Dear Gurudev,

Hare Krishna. Jaya Jagannath!

By your grace the difference between rashis and grahas became clear. Now another ABC question comes for me: how to understand the difference between natural and temporal significations. Sometimes natural significators indicate good results but the temporal give bad ones - what to infer from this? It would be very helpful if you again can give some analogy.

I don't have clear picture here and feel that cannot progress much in my understanding without it.

JAYA JAGANNATHDear YND,

I cannot answer so many questions daily. Gauranga, Sarat, Mani, Dinath Prabhu, please attempt a few and give your views. I find that Sarajit is also very quiet. Can we hear your views on this please?

I would be really grateful if you could help. It is just like a classic Gurukula system where the older students teach whatever they learnt to the younger students and thus better learn themselves. This also allows for the Guru to give knowledge to more people.

Jai Jai Shri Jagannath Om Ganeshaya Namah

Dear Saanjayji and YND,

I am sorry I couldn't reply for long due to pre-occupations and pressures of

work. I find that Shri Sarajit has already attempted the reply to this

mail. However, here's what I need to add.

Natural Significators - According to standard texts each planet has been

given a karakatwa meaning what it primarily represents or signifies. The

standard sanskrit words are " Naisargika Karaka " where " Naisargika " means

natural and " Karaka " means significator or what it symbolizes. In the

natural zodiac of the Kalapurusha these planets hold these natural

siginification. However, when individual horoscopes are made the karakatwa

of the planets change in accordance with their respective longitudes. This

does not alter their basic natural (Naisargik) qualities though. They

become relative to a certain karakatwa in different individual charts and

this is called 'Temporary significators' or Chara Karaka in sanskrit.

Most people adopt a seven planet karakatwa pattern i.e., from Sun to Saturn

excluding Rahu. However, the most effective karakatwa scheme recommended by

Maharishi Parasara and Jaimini and that followed by Sanjayji himself and as

taught to us, is to follow the 8 planet karakatwa scheme which includes Rahu

too. The 8 karakatwas and their natural significators (Naisargik Karakas)

are:-

(1) Atmakarak (Sun)

(2) Amatyakarak (Moon as it is Vishnu who takes care of us and it is the

mother who takes care of child till it becomes strong enough)

(3) Bhratrukarak (Mars) (Bhratrukarak is also known as Gurukarak) (4)

Matrikarak (Moon)

(5) Pitrikarak (Saturn)

(6) Putrakarak (Jupiter)

(7) Gnatikarak (Mercury), and

(8) Darakarak (Venus) for spouse.

The temporal signification or the chara karakatwa in the individual natal

charts change according to the degrees attained by each of the planets -

beginning with the planet obtaining the highest degree becoming the

Atmakarak and going downwards to Darakarak.

The effects of these charakarakas are to be studied from their respective

placements in the chart as also in relation to their placement from the

natural significators. For example: Moon represents the mother and

generally speaking, the placement of Moon itself will reveal a lot of things

about mother. However, the effects/results get modified also in terms with

the placement of the chara matrikaraka in the chart, both in terms of the

placement of the chara matrikaraka in the chart as also with its placement

relationship with the naisargik matrikarak.

For the time being this would suffice. Any further questions, please do not

hesitate to come back.

Regards,

Yours,

Sarat.

JAYA JAGANNATH

Dear Gauranga,

And I hope you are prepared to do a sincere job out here in writing

about Vaastu. Please study the temple architecture properly as the Vaastu of

the Parthasarathy temple at Delhi is miserable..totally wrong generating

many Martian vibrations and other energy blocks. Study the Konarka temple

drawings and also that of Jagannatha temple. This will be a great help for

ISKCON.

area.

think that these two are the most vital, and tohers give additional

information.
