Dear Laxmi, Namaste

 

I am one of the biggest admirer of Jagjit Singh for sure. He was in

Dubai 6 months back and I was lucky to touch his feet and he looked

at me like a father would and asked the security to bring me to him.

He touched my head and told me that I had something in me and went

ahead. I must say he is such a simple man and has no airs about his

position in the field of Ghazal and other forms of music also. A

famous quote he gave in Duabai was " THE GOLDEN AGE OF GHAZAL MIGHT

BE OVER BUT THE PLATINUM AGE OF JAGJIT SINGH IS STILL THERE " . The

way he sang here was exceptional, went way ahead of his time since he

got a superb reception from the crowds and extended the show by 30

minutes to sing all request.

 

He lost his son which transformed him, if you get his chart do share

it with me as well.

Dear Lakshmi Ji & Sanjay Ji

 

Some years ago i read one astro portrait on Jagjit singh. I don't remember the time but the lagna was mentioned as Capricorn having Venus into it. As far as I remember he has debilitated Saturn in 4th house also.

Let me give some of my observations on the chart, As you would know, The luminaries Sun and Moon are very essential for Raaga and Taala. He has Sun as Atmakaaraka, Moon is in trines to Sun in Navamsa. The moon is also his Ishta devata, indicating his deep Ishta towards music. Panchanga: Next I would take a look at the Panchanga for the day. I would note the various start and end time of all the 5 Angas. Here, we see that Vishti Karana (ruling the profression and karma) is runing upto 10:40 AM that day. This Karana is ruled by Saturn. His profession i.e singing has nor relation to Saturn. Also we see that Saturn is not even associated with Sun/Moon strongly. So We can possibly rule out Saturn as his karana, As we can possibly assume that his birth would be after the 10:40 AM to midnight with either Bhava or Balava karana

ruled either by sun or moon, both may seem ok at this point. The lagnas we get is Aries to Libra. My other though would be that he could be born after Sunset (i.e night) times such times make Moon very strong. His singing is usually very emotion driven. || Om Gurave Namah ||Dear Lakshmiji, " Jathaka Sara Dheepa " and " Maansagari " both from Sagar Publications has some information about various year, month, panchanga (nakshatra yoni) etc birth. Those give just some basic ideas. In my thought, The Karana rulers should be taken into considerations with those indications. Kaalaprakashika is also good text. Basically I feel that taking panchanga start-end times is good way to correct chart, when we dont have reliable Prashna chart.

My family is doing, how about yours, Please come to my home next time when you come.

Hare Rama Krishna Dear Sanjay P., Thanks for giving the tips on the karanas and such. I didnt know that, or hadnt thought of them being used this way , so thanks for opening my eyes. Do you have any resource for me learn more?
