Dear Rajarishi , Namaskar

From Gaudiya-Vaisnava tradition it says that it increase Krsna-bhakti

therefore it was introduced again by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu to His

mother and then followers (Caitanya Caritamrta). Its connected to

Papa-purusa (embodiment of sin0 who sits in the grains in this day.

From Jyotish point of view it decrease agni, anger, fire, pitta,

outbursts etc. Its also perscribed in Garuda Purana.

The time of fasting (for Vaisnavas) has some special rules which are

described by Goswami in Hari-bhakti-Vilasa.

Dear Members,

Can someone please explain what is the general benefit of fasting on

ekadasi tithi irrespective of the natal chart?

Also should teh fast be from one sunrise to the next day sunrise or

Any explanation would be highly appreciated.
