Can the word "Hrim" be added to the Surya astakshari mantra so that it reads as

"Om Hrim Ghrini Surya aditya" ? Pls advise

हरे राम कृषà¥à¤£Dear Sunil, Namaskar.I you haven't already learnt the procedure from the Guru who initiated you into the Gayatri mantra, then you are supposed to offer arghya (water) to Surya and recite the Surya-astakshari: om ghrini suryaadityaa. In the latest issue of Jyotish Digest – April – June 2008 you have written an article on Saturn Mantras ie mantras

to purify Saturn placed in different situations.

 

My question is, that if a person is affected by all four situations ie hum, srim, klim and hrim then would the

person have to say all the 4 mantras separately or is there a common prayer for all the four. Also would Savitur

Gayatri mantra have to be chanted separately for removing the tamas effect of Saturn or would it be included

in the common mantra of hum, srim, klim and hrim.

 

One more question – Gayatri Mantra is advised to be chanted strictly in the morning – is this correct?

If yes then why this restriction of chanting only in the morning? Is this a vedic restriction ?

And what should be the morning time to chant this mantra.

 

Please advise.
