Guest guest
!Om Gurave Namah! Dear Gurus and friends, Namaskar! I am looking at a horoscope which has curse of Venus in 10th house in Taurus. Since the lord of the house is involved in the curse, one would look at Karaka for the 10H. Since there are 4 Karaks of 10 H - Sun; Mercury; Jupiter; Saturn. My confusion is which one to choose? Any guidence in this regard is appreciated. Warm Regards, Pranav

Guest guest
|Om Shreenivasaya Namah| Dear Pranav, Namaskar. Choose Mercury. Always choose the primary Karaka of the Bhava concerned if the lord is afflicted. I have chosen Budh, though Shukra is not afflicted. (11th June, 1972; 10:17:55 AM; Cuttack, Orissa). Shukra is Vakra, and might entail too much effort to propitiate. Budh is in Mithun and not Vakra. Just a thought or two on retrogression. Sanjay Ji has said in the past that the retrogression of planets shows a lot of effort. It may be because the goals are high and entail effort. I also feel that in certain charts, it is just as well that some crucial Grahas, especially benefics are Vakra in auspicious places. Of course, retrogression in exaltation Rashi is an exception. Why should this be so, that retrogression might as well be there. Retrogression might come in very handy where one needs tremendous drive, patience, knowledge, wisdom, access to Jnana, esoteric Parampara. Why would one 'need' such attributes? The most obvious examples are, severe Shrapas, and also Doshas. If Cheshta Bala were not there in associated areas which may counter the affliction, how would one do it. How would one tolerate the affliction? How would one get past it? Of course, striving of a material sort can be seen from 3rd and 6th from the Arudha Lagna. But what about more elevated forms of striving which may or may not accompany the sort of striving shown by the placements from AL. Thus, Sanjay Ji has said in the past that retrogression does not necessarily mean that an objective will not be achieved. If other factors were to show achievement, then benefic retrogression can be a tool that can help. For propitiation though, I have chosen the obviously easier way out. I cannot see any harm in it, unless there is something I am not aware of.
