Dear Srijagannath Group Members,

I'm a new member of your group and I want to let you know about a new free

Internet broadcast of the complete Ramayana that just started on YogaSpirit.com.

This broadcast features an audio production of the unabridged Ramayana of

Valmiki in English recently produced by a friend of mine, Michael Sternfeld of

Vedic Audio Knowledge (VAK).

Here are all the details:

THE RAMAYANA IS IN THE AIR:

The Timeless Epic Now on Internet Radio

The Ramayana is in the air--literally. The most cherished epic of India will be

making waves when Yoga Spirit Radio presents the complete Ramayana, in free

one-hour weekly internet broadcasts beginning Sunday, April 22 at

www.YogaSpirit.com.

YogaSpirit.com offers educational programs to the yoga community throughout the

world, and is honored to present this production-- now the world's longest audio

book. This dramatic presentation in English is the original unabridged Ramayana

of Valmiki. Created over seven years by Michael Sternfeld and Vedic Audio

Knowledge, this production was honored as the " 2004 Outstanding Project of the

Year " by Humanities Iowa and the National Endowment for the Humanities and has

just been re-released in digital MP3 formats.

Revered by more than one billion people worldwide as the most sacred of stories,

the Ramayana not only has its roots as a national treasure of India and

Southeast Asia, but has also emerged as one of the classics of world literature.

Since the Ramayana was originally meant to be heard as an oral tradition, this

Internet broadcast essentially marks the first time this heroic epic has been

brought to the West in its entirety.

This timeless epic has been inspiring generation after generation to live by the

deep values of Sanatana Dharma. This production contains all the beautiful

stories-within-the-story often left out of the abridged versions. Now the world

can hear stories such as the origin of the great river Ganges, the secrets of

master architect Maya and the extraordinary battle between the great sages

Vasishta and Vishwamitra. Listeners will gain a glimpse into the richness of

ancient life in Rama's golden age and be inspired.

Deborah Rubin, of Yoga Spirit Radio says, " We are pleased to offer the

Ramayana's teachings of the ancient sages and their universal lessons on love,

morality, karma and societal duties which still apply today " .

Producer/director, Michael Sternfeld, added, " There's an old saying that as a

story is told, so it happens. My personal experience is that when listening to

Rama's epic tale, life shifts to this profound level where emotions are rich,

love runs deep, and truth conquers all. "

The world can now enjoy this great epic saga via streaming audio by tuning into

Yoga Spirit Radio anytime starting Sunday, April 22. New one-hour episodes will

be presented every Sunday for 75 weeks. Each episode will also be available

anytime during the week of its release. All episodes will be archived. To visit
