Curses - Is Ketu considered a Melific and delivers a curse?

!Om Gurave Namah! Dear Learneds and Gurus, Namaskar! curse happens when one graha is joined or aspected (graha dristi) by two krura grahas. My doubt - Is Ketu considered Malefic planet? It is malefic in some cases and benefic in other, hence the confusion. Any help is appreciated. Warm regards, Pranav

Dear Pranav,

Here are 2 cents from a student:

 

Yes ketu is a malefic - it upsets relative enjoyments by letting

mistakes, accidents, losses creep into our lifes. Ultimately its good

since it breaks the mercury > venus sequence where we do a lot of wealth

amassing (mercury) and then enjoy this wealth (venus.) However, this is

not the purpose of life Moksha is.  So ketu enters and then we

experience sorrow ( saturn ) and lastly the spirit of mankind starts the

process all over again ( mars ) and then sun,moon, jupiter, rahu,

mercury, venus, ketu, saturn and mars all follow in sequence.

 

The purpose is of course very benign in perspective but our experience

dealt to us by ketu when going through it in life is not so nice.

 

If you have the moon in yuti with ketu then you will naturally have

rahu aspecting this yuti by its 7th graha dristhi and then you

will also have a bona fide shapa/curse on the moon.

HARE RAMA KRISHNA

 

Ketu and Rahu are the north and south nodes of the moon symbolized

by a serpent, Rahu being its head and Ketu the tail. The nodes work together to

balance

the cyclical law of karma. Liberation can be achieved after insurmountable

catastrophe,

and then one looks within and makes changes to become aligned with the universe.

Ketu is a headless form. Rahu works more on the material plane, as in

karmic

retribution while Ketu is more inner, like disillusionment; spiritual

humiliation. It is a

planet of moksha. It gives spiritual, healing, otherworldly desires and psychic

ability.

Ketu is malefic when positioned inauspiciously in the chart. Then it

destroys the

potency of the planet with which it is conjunct. This makes the planet behave in

an

uncontrollable manner. Ketu is tamasic (darkness, unconscious).

According to Sri Mali, Ketu can get cursed, thereby it is like a benefic being

cursed. So if

Ketu has more than 2 malefics afflicting it, Sri Mali believes Ketu can get

cursed. It is the

curse of a saint. Cursed Jupiter/ curse of a brahman, moon/mother...Some people

believe

it can get cursed, but I don't know anybody who says it causes a curse. Treat it

like a

benefic.
