PLz clarify my doubt ??IS nadi written in Tamil???

I have read that nadi is written in tamil in old palm leaf manuscripts and I have seen those too but was not able to read it though..I was curious when I saw people from other places of india practising nadi, which invokes me this question.If nadi is written in tamil how come they practise it in other parts of india and do they learn tamil or is it written in other languages too. Thanks Bhaskaran
