Dear kiran, Daylight saving time is never taken into consideeratiopn. It is only the Standard Time for astrological calculations and turned into LMT. This makes the calculations permanent for calculation of the Local Mean Time, a base for working out Lagna. Very important to take DST (Daylight Saving Time) into consideration as otherwise Wrong Lagna/House placements can occur as rightly pointed out by Seema in her earlier Email. Inessence DST has to be converted into GMT/UT (Universal Time) to give the correct Natal Chart placements.

 

Seema - for the data given (27th April 1977 Time:11:38pm DST Co-ords 52N35 2W08) I get Asc 18Sco44 - don't quite understand as to how you get Cancer as your Ascendant?
