Mob: 098819 01049 (Oak) ई मेल – shashioak, shashikantoak Minutes of Conference and News Report on Successful conduct of honouring of Naadi Maharahies in Naadi Palm Leaf Conference In Pune Introduction A conference on Naadi Palm Leaf Astrology was conducted on 14th Oct 2007 in Pune at Udyan Prasad Karyalaya, from 1300hrs to 1830hrs. The Beginning Wing Commander welcomed the Naadi Centre owners and staff from Pune and many cities of Maharashtra. List of Centres invited is attached as Appendix ‘A’ Shri. Chandrakant Shewale, Chief Organiser of the conference lit the lamps along with Mrs. Alka Oak, Prof Adwayanand Galtage. Chanting of Mantras from Vedas and Upanishads was conducted by Dr. Nityanand Deshmukh and Party. The second edition of book titled “Vidgyan Aani Buddhiwaad”(The Science and Rationalism) was released by the present on the stage. Staff like Naadi readers, translators and Table Managers and helpers except owners of Naadi centres were honoured with a special trophy, a Uparna (Scarf), Flower and Gaurav Patra (. Letter of

Honour). Appointments Desks were provided in other Hall to the Naadi centres to register the names for their Centres with concession of Rs 50 per person.( Normal fees charges were Rs 400 to Rs 600) Many new persons got opportunity to register at many centres in Pune and other cities in one go. However no Naadi Reading was

conducted. Books Fare Stalls from Books shops were doing brisk business to sell thousands of rupees worth books on Naadi predictions by Wing Commander Oak in Marathi, Hindi and English and other authors. List of books for sale is attached as Appendix ‘B’ Auditorium Activity Dr. Dada Wani, Chief Engineer, Of Army Sub Areas Head Qtrs, Southern Command. He covered general features of Naadi reading and out line of Chapters Etc. Due to paucity of time no demonstration of some sample leaves in public was conducted. In previous times some random leaves were read and names and other details were read

out aloud to indicate how the persons from different countries and religions were no exception to Naadi Maharshees. In one such loud reading a leaf was found accidentally. A girl, who happened to be present just out of curiosity, said ‘Yes’ to all that was called out loudly. Later she was summoned to the stage and got her leaf reading in front of many present. Tea and snacks It is observed that the topic of Naadi Experiences generally not disclosed unless some sort of intimacy is developed. Therefore, full one hour was planned to provide tea and snacks while the participants freely exchange their experiences informally. The experiment was successful to a good extent. Unique Experiences The

personalities mentioned in my book having strange and unique instances spoke with authority. Participants were Wing Commander Rakesh Nanda, Pheroze Misty, Rajan Vaidya, and Subhash Havre. Some present were given chance to speak were Kaustubh Butala, Vijay Sabnis, Magician Vijay Kumar. Wing Commander Rakesh Nanda spoke how he used to help people from any part of country when called over on his Mobile Nos. From Air Martial to even Havildars, how he had served with out any personal gains but as a service to the Maharshees. Pheroze narrated how he mistook his Puja in one of Shiva Temple. He had to go again to perform it with same reverence

and faith. How he was rewarded with many opportunities to him and his family members. His pilgrimage to Sadurgiri, 150 kms south of Madurai. Subhash Havre stated how he is still fighting fit after nine (9) heart Attacks and admission in famous Ruby Hospital in Pune. How he learnt the Modi Lipi (cryptic Script in Marathi) and stood first in Pune University. How he was guided to administer siddha medicines as per

predictions from Leaves. He also distributed more than 100 laminated pictures of Agasthya Maharshi. Vijay Sabnis narrated his experiences and of others whom he took to Atri Jeeva Naadi in Chinchwad Centre. Magician enthralled with his trick to produce a note out of nothing but he said his trick is nothing in front of divining of exact details by great Maharshees of ancient past. The session was to cut short to allow Wing Commander Oak to speak about he suggestions he had put forth for implementation by the Naadi Centres. The points were read

out in Marathi. The same with English version were asked to put up in Naadi Centres along with Trophy presented to them at prominent Place. The list of suggestions is attached as Appendix ‘C’. The Burning topic of some participants was – Why predictions go wrong? ‘How come the past of

person comes 100% accurate whereas the future events do not come true as predicted? It was not possible to provide satisfactory answer to each and every one. But the topic has been clearly explained by Prof. Adwayanand Galatge in his Marathi book- (विज्ञान आणि अंधश्रद्धा निर्मुलन) –

‘Science and Blind Faith Eradication’. Wing Commander Oak proved the point that the purpose of Great Maharshees was not only to divine 100% accurate predictions but to a great extent make the karma theory happen smoothly. He gave a live example of late Flying Officer Dhananjay Mote. The explanation in Marathi is attached as Appendix ‘D’. How the divining on palm leaves is extremely impossible explained in

Appendix ‘E’. English version of both will be put up shortly. In the same book he had also give his explanation as to how the seeing of Naadi palm leaf predictions and Performance of Shanti Deeksha - remedial reassures do not contradict each other as stated by Dr. Jayant Narlikar while

giving his opinion on Naadi Prediction without experiencing it. The entire correspondence by Prof. Galatge is available in Marathi and in English in the book ‘Bodh Andhshrddhecha’ Main Function - Honouring of Naadi Shastries and Other Jyotishya Shastries of conventional

methods. High Tea was arranged for the main participants. Soon after that chief Guests took the position on the stage. They were – 1.Dr G. John Samuel, Director Institute of Asian Studies from Chennai, 2.Ms Jaya Lakshmi, Senior Researcher on Tamil palm leaf manuscripts. 3. Ex MLA of Shivsena Shri. Prakash Devle, who had constructed a mirror temple of Shri Shirdi Saibaba. 4. Dr. R.N. Shukla, Ex- scientist of National Chemical laboratory an explorer of aura of palm leaves along with British scientist. 5. Prof. Adwayanand Galatge, author of many books on parapsychology and authority on Theosophy and Modern Sciences. 6. Shri. Hira Bhai Butala, Indira Gandhi Award winner, Gandhiyan and Educationalist. 7. Smt. Pratibha Shahu Modak – Lyricist, astrologer and wife of Cine actor late Shahu Modak who was very famous for his roles as ‘Bhagwan - Shri Krishna’ in many films of fifties and sixties and renowned astrologer of his times.

Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, Padmashree award winner and Computer wizard and Naadi Lover could not attend the function due to his preoccupation with other invitation. The Chief Naadi astrologers were honoured with 1)Trophy Gaurav Chinha as ‘Boat’, 2) Bouquet of flower, 3) Gaurav

Patra - Letter of Honour indicating the service they have rendered and expected to be rendered with honesty and devotion to the god almighty - ‘Param Shiv Tatva’. and concept behind the symbolic boat and Naadi palm leaf predictions, 4) Uparna, 5 ) Photo of Agasthya Maharshi. Some of them who could not make it due various reasons were given the trophy later. On the occasion Dr .G John Samuel spoke his contribution of making of sample Dictionary in which an extended meaning of some 100 Naadi Words were presented in a booklet form. He was surprised to see the tremendous response for the Tamil Manuscripts. He stated that in many libraries including his own institute does not possess an single leaf of Naadi

Palm leaf. Ever though he had some collection of esoteric topics like Black Magic. Given any material of palm leaves by Naadi centres, he said, his expert staff would get exposure to the cryptic script and may be in later times could be able to decipher the words and meaning more easily. Script of his address is attached as Appendix ‘F’ Resolutions passed Before the vote of thanks by Prof. Mrs. Nutan Apte, Four resolutions were passed unanimously. They text of resolutions in Marathi is placed as Appendix ‘G’. English version will be put up shortly. Sum up The greetings from many Naadi lovers came in time. Some were late. The financial support given by willing Naadi lovers was overwhelming. The Naadi Maharshees will provide insight on the next happening of this type of event in future. ________________________________****_______________________ Prepared and Presented by Shashikant List of Centres invited is attached as Appendix ‘A’ दिनांक - 14 ऑक्टोबर 2007. Mob: 098819 01049 (Oak) Suggestions to improve the Standards of Naadi Palm Leaf Astrology Centres. Wing Commander Shashikant Oak, while addressing in the Conference made some suggestions to improve the standards of Naadi reading profession. After some

deliberations with some Chief Naadi Astrologers, they have agreed to implement most of them as far as possible in near future. Let us hope this conference puts them in right frame of mind for the rest of the suggestions. {IT IS REQUESTED THAT ANY ONE WISHES TO IMPROVE THESE SUGGESTIONS FURTHER AND / OR TRANSLATE IN TAMIL OR LOCAL LANGUAGE OF HIS/HER AREA, YOU ARE WELCOME. PLEASE PUT UP ON THE WEBGROUP AND HAND OVER TO THE CENTRES FOR IMPLEMENTATION UNDER INTIMATION TO THE UNDERSIGNED} There are many challenges before present Naadi Centres. The younger generation Naadi readers will have to cope up with the requirements of the present day customers. While respecting the old traditions fully, they will have to give way to present day

conditions and new paths will have to be build up for the betterment of the divine profession of the ancient past. Gone are the days when no one was bothered about proper running of any business. Now Consumer Courts, Rationalist pressure groups, Non-believers and Government regulations are out to watch wrong doings at any time and at any place. Persons without proper ethics and high morale standards are spoiling the reputation of Great Maharshees and their gigantic work of Naadi Palm leaf Astrology. Children of present Chief Naadi readers are not at all keen to learn the cryptic Tamil language. They see pathetic condition of the fellow readers. Disregard to the

rituals they are expected to undertake before stating the days proceedings of Divine reading. Not so good activities in the non-working hours. Some code of conduct will have to be observed by all Naadi astrologers. Few suggestions in this direction are listed bellow for the benefit of all Naadi lovers to observe them minutely while they visit the centres of their areas. The purpose here is not to criticise any person or any Naadi centre in particular but to understand the reality of profession and suggest ways for the betterment of it. 1. Regularity of opening of centres: - Open centres by 8:30 sharp (depending upon climatic conditions and transport facility). The centre should remain open to accommodate the last customer. If needed work in shift basis. 2. Cleanliness: - Chief Astrologer’s Office, Puja room and other business rooms including toilets and kitchens should be

cleaned every day. No cobwebs, black walls due to Aarti and oil lamps. If required get them white washed every few months. 3. Chappals and News Papers Stand:- Provide proper place to keep footwear outside canters. News paper and periodicals be placed in as proper stand. (Naadi lover Shri Babuji Bhagwat of Pune had provided free stands to some centres in Mumbai and Pune) 4. Use of TV: - Avoid seeing Tamil programmes, especially when non-Tamil knowing clients are present in the centre. 5.

Morning prayers and Sadhana: - The chief Naadi astrologers should set up an example by getting ready for Morning Prayer by 07:00 every day. All other readers should perform Japams and Sadhana /Meditation. The clients present should be permitted to participate in the prayers and Prasad conducted before the day’s proceedings. 6. Table attendants:- Should be available at given timings. Avoid taking any thumb print by some other person. Unless the person carrying is blood relation

and alive. 7. Visitor’s Book: - Visitor’s Book should be kept ready with table attendants for the clients to write their experiences of Naadi readings. It will be evidence to see by the others to know what were the experiences of others clients who have seen Naadi leaves previously. The names and Addresses will help centres to locate persons if required on later date. 8. Photographic Albums:- Avoid display of Photo frames of celebrities in open. Please make post card size Photo album of the visitors. Also add the photos while giving charity to needy and poor from the gifts given to the centres like saris to women, ready made shirts or T shirts and pants; Lungi etc, School stationary or text books to the children. Avoid giving cloth pieces it will burden them to spend money on stitching charges. 9. Centre’s Opening Celebrations:- Every

year celebrate some function like Pongal, Diwali, or centre’s opening day. Invite nearby persons, society residents, celebrities and distribute sweets and flowers so that he friendly atmosphere is created. 10. Legal Advice and Police Protection:- Please arrange for advocate in advance. He may be from your clients. Meet in charge of area Police Station. Invite him and his staffs to centre so that the police are aware what type of activities are conducted. Especially for Non-Tamil speaking area centres Police protections is a must. 11. Facilities to Staff Workers:- Following aspects may be kept in mind . Ø Proper food, stay and transport should be provided where staff workers reside in the centre premises. Ø Medical and emergency help is to be given without fail. Family members are contacted fast. Ø The staff should be encouraged to bring family members to reside with nearby areas. This will avoid frequent visits to home towns and loss of working hands and days. Ø The staff should be encouraged to celebrate Pongal, Diwali etc locally. So that the centre remains open without long break. Ø Remittance of money to the family members in home town is to be monitored by the chief Naadi Astrologers regularly. Ø Every staff should be

given Name plate to be displayed on chest for easy recognition. Wearing of Name plates should be made compulsory. It is easy to remember names of the reader by clients that way. Ø Staff should not consume hard drinks and create disturbance to co-workers. Ø The Staff should be honest to their spouses. 12. Learning of languages:- Spoken English classes may be conducted for the staff, so that translation and searching of leaf becomes easy. The staff working in outside Tamilnadu in non-Tamil speaking areas should be encourages to learn the local languages. 13. Employment Opportunities: - More and more centres are opening in all parts of India. At present many sent out by parents as useless are joining the Naadi reading job. It is harming the reputation of Naadi readings. If job guarantee is given, many new faces with talent and intelligence will join the profession. 14. Certificate of grading:- Could be given to the young readers. It will help to know the standard of reader. 15. Naadi Astrologers from Vaideeshwaran Koil should provide some financial support and by way of regular supply of Naadi leaves to encourage centres run properly. They should get daily feedback from the centres about number of clients served, and other activities of the day. 16. The chief Naadi astrologers should

encourage the staff to open new centre. The new centre should not create competition in the same locality of big cities or near by towns. 17.

How the divining on palm leaves is extremely impossible explained in

Speech by Dr G John Samuel Dirextor Institute of Asian Studues Chennai.Appendix 'G' Palm-leaf Manuscripts on Nadi Astrology - Dr. John Samuel. It is indeed a matter of pride for me to stand before you in this significant programme

which aims at exploring the possibilities of rendering some concrete services for safeguarding and promoting one of the important components of our heritage namely the Nadi prediction. At the outset, let me tell you frankly that I am a person completely alien to the theme of the present conference. Although I was very much reluctant to take part in this programme initially, my innate interest in the preservation and conservation of Palm-leaf manuscripts coupled with the enormous interest shown on this fascinating theme by my good friend Wing commander. Mr. Shashikanth Oak, and my cursory reading of his most revealing book ‘Nadi Predictions’ compelled me to accept his invitation and assume the role of a passive observer of this programme. One of the major projects of the Institute of Asian Studies in Chennai is to study the structure and content of the Palm-leaf manuscripts of our country which are fast vanishing owing to human negligence, natural calamities and the ravages of time. We are launching many programmes connected with this great documentary heritage of our ancestors both individually and jointly with the participation of many national and international organizations including the UNESCO. Our main concern in these programmes is to protect these wonderful heritage from the cruel hands of the deteriorating agencies and to study the traditional knowledge and wisdom contained in them. From this point of view, we started analyzing the palm-leaf manuscripts which deal with the various ramifications of Indian medicine, Indian literature, grammar, fine-arts, performing arts, veterinary science, arts and architecture, astrology , astronomy and even the art of building ships. During our continuous pursuit of the manuscript heritage of this land, we come across the information about a rich corpus of palm-leaf manuscripts on Nadi astrology mainly in the hands of professionals who read and interpret them and predict the past,

present and future of mankind irrespective of their ethnic, regional, religious, cultural and linguistic diversities. We were very much surprised when many of our visitors from Japan and other countries started enquiring about the Nadi manuscripts which are popularly known to them as ‘Agasthiya leaves’. It was a great surprise for me to find out no such manuscripts in the manuscript libraries although palm-leaves connected with witch-craft, necromancy etc., are available in plenty in our libraries. I made continuous enquiries about the validity of the thematic content of these manuscripts and the predictions given by the Nadi readers basing on this enchanting corpus with our academic circle who are evincing active interest in the palm-leaf traditions of our country. The response was indeed not encouraging-sometimes shocking also and many people expressed their skepticism on these traditions and some have described it as dubious and fake. In the years 1998, and 1999, there were few T.V interviews in which some pertinent questions were raised at me by the interviewers about this tradition along with many other interesting queries associated with the palm-leaf corpus of our motherland. At that time, I was not in a position to provide convincing answers or justifications about this heritage due to paucity of data available with us. We tried to decipher many of the leaves provided by the fans and well-wishers tradition but we were not able to make head or tail out of the major portions of the leaves presented by them. When a team of experts from France, on behalf of the UNESCO visited our Institute for a general survey of the rich tradition of our palm-leaf manuscripts, we visited some of the Nadi Centres in Chennai and Vaitheeswaran Koil with a view to get some data about the background of this great heritage. But, it was a great disappointment to me and the UNESCO team since, unlike the custodians of other palm-leaf manuscripts pertaining to medicine and related areas of our traditional knowledge, the people who are possessing the Nadi leaves are reluctant to show the

manuscripts and even fail to explain systematically the methodology that underlies the rich corpus of this significant heritage. We were given the explanation that the leaves under their custody date back to more than one thousand years and they were collected by their ancestors from the left out palm-leaves of King Sarfoji who was active in collecting the manuscripts which are now preserved in the Saraswathi meal Library, Tanjore. This information was not at all convincing to us since the maximum life of a palm-leaf in the tropical Indian climate is 350 years. Being an organic substance, the palm-leaf is subjected to

deterioration and disintegration within 350 years-perhaps its longevity may be comparatively longer in the cold countries of Europe, America and Asia. In many instances, the text of the palm-leaf may be old and in this context it should have withstood the passage of time due to the untiring efforts of the scribes who copied them down again and again. The other doubt raised by any reasonable person in this regard is whether it is humanly possible to record the past and future of all individuals of the globe in the palm-leaf manuscripts written long ago. It is true that the ancient seers

and sages of this land of spirituality with their insight and vision were able to foresee the future events and to tell the present and the past. But, no adequate efforts have been taken either by Nadi astrologers or lovers of this art to analyse objectively and present the merits of this before the academic world. I do agree that there are stray attempts in this direction by our Wing Commander and others. Apart from this, it is unfortunate that there are no organized attempts in this direction and our Nadi astrologers are content only with the present and not about the future of this great heritage. It is now the time for you to clear patiently the

reasonable doubts raised from various quarters about a rare wisdom of our ancestors entrusted in your hands and to protect it from the onslaught of adverse criticism. You are the custodian of this knowledge or wisdom and it is your duty to demonstrate before the world the authenticity of this rare treasure. You cannot keep it as an esoteric art for a long time in this age of technology and globalization. Anything kept as esoteric or secret will have a natural death in this era of information technology. India is a land of spirituality which radiated its rays of wisdom all over the benighted world and we are the inheritors of the Indian heritage and it is our bounden duty to explain and establish the greatness of this heritage to the world. The Nadi astrologers, apart from interpreting or reading the predictions on the leaves to their customers should join hands to place this rare tradition before the world by explaining the scientific basis that underlie the corpus of the Nadi sastra. The relationship between the world, the macrocosm and human individuals, the microcosm should be explained along with the extraordinary mathematical skill of the great men of this land. You can join together in establishing study centres about this tradition and encourage writing and publishing scholarly articles about this in the magazines, which I am sure will be a good source of dissemination of this

heritage and this will attract more customers all over the world. I appreciate the efforts of our Wing Commander Mr. Shashikanth Oak in this direction and I am sure that his inspiration will help to pool together the lovers of this art and the professionals and to take up initiatives for promoting researches on this heritage. With this great expectation, the Institute of Asian Studies expressed its consent to undertake the compilation of a small dictionary of technical terms associated with Nadi predictions. I hope this conference will provide proper impetus to the custodians of the Nadi palm-leaf manuscripts collection and to enable them to take all efforts to protect this wisdom of our country and to disseminate them to the entire world so that this significant component of the Indian heritage add pride and prestige to our Motherland. May this Conference will be a turning point in the annals of this tradition in pooling together all professionals and patrons of this pan-Indian tradition and to render good services which will enrich our knowledge about our own heritage and to promote solidarity and peace and make this earthly life truly meaningful. Thanking you. **************** They text of resolutions in Marathi is placed as Appendix ‘G’. Date – 14 Oct 2007. Place – Udyan Prasad Marriage Hall, Khajina Vihir Chowk

In previous times some random leaves were read and names and other details were read out aloud to indicate how the persons from different countries and religions were no exception to Naadi Maharshees. In one such loud reading a leaf was found accidentally. A girl, who happened to be present just out of curiosity, said ‘Yes’ to all that was called out loudly. Later she was summoned to the stage and got her leaf reading in front of

many present. Tea and snacks It is observed that the topic of Naadi Experiences generally not disclosed unless some sort of intimacy is developed. Therefore, full one hour was planned to provide tea and snacks while the participants freely exchange their experiences informally. The experiment was successful to a good

extent. Unique Experiences The personalities mentioned in my book having strange and unique instances spoke with authority. He had to go again to perform it with same reverence and faith. How he was guided to administer siddha medicines as per predictions from Leaves. The points were read out in Marathi. The same with English version were asked to put up in Naadi Centres along with Trophy presented to them at prominent Place. The list of suggestions is attached as Appendix ‘C’. The Burning topic of some participants was – Why predictions go wrong? ‘How come the past of person comes 100% accurate whereas the future events do not come true as predicted? It was not possible to provide satisfactory answer to each and every one. But the topic has been clearly explained by Prof. Adwayanand Galatge in his Marathi book- (विज्ञान आणि अंधश्रद्धा निर्मुलन) – ‘Science and Blind Faith Eradication’. How the divining on palm leaves is extremely impossible explained in Appendix ‘E’. English version of both will be put up shortly. In the same book he had also give his explanation as to how the seeing of Naadi palm leaf predictions and Performance of Shanti Deeksha - remedial reassures do not contradict each other as stated by Dr. Jayant Narlikar while giving his opinion on Naadi Prediction without experiencing it. The entire correspondence by Prof. Galatge is available in Marathi and in English in the book ‘Bodh Andhshrddhecha’ Main Function - Honouring of Naadi Shastries and Other Jyotishya Shastries of conventional methods. 3. Ex MLA of

Shivsena Shri. Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, Padmashree award winner and Computer wizard and Naadi Lover could not attend the function due to his preoccupation with

other invitation. The Chief Naadi astrologers were honoured with 1)Trophy Gaurav Chinha as ‘Boat’, 2) Bouquet of flower, 3) Gaurav Patra - Letter of Honour indicating the service they have rendered and expected to be rendered with honesty and devotion to the god almighty - ‘Param Shiv Tatva’. and concept behind the symbolic boat and Naadi palm leaf predictions, 4) Uparna, 5 ) Photo of Agasthya Maharshi. Some of them who could not make it due various

reasons were given the trophy later. On the occasion Dr .G John Samuel spoke his contribution of making of sample Dictionary in which an extended meaning of some 100 Naadi Words were presented in a booklet form. He was surprised to see the tremendous response for the Tamil Manuscripts. He stated that in many libraries including his own institute does not possess an single leaf of Naadi Palm leaf. Ever though he had some collection of esoteric topics like Black Magic. Given any material of palm leaves by Naadi centres, he

said, his expert staff would get exposure to the cryptic script and may be in later times could be able to decipher the words and meaning more easily. Script of his address is attached as Appendix ‘F’ Resolutions passed Before the vote of

thanks by Prof. Mrs. Nutan Apte, Four resolutions were passed unanimously. They text of resolutions in Marathi is placed as Appendix ‘G’. English version will be put up shortly. Sum up The greetings from many Naadi lovers

came in time. Some were late. The financial support given by willing Naadi lovers was overwhelming. The Naadi Maharshees will provide insight on the next happening of this type of event in future. ________________________________****_______________________ Wing Commander Shashikant Oak. It is observed that the topic of Naadi Experiences generally not disclosed unless some sort of intimacy is developed. Therefore, full one hour was planned to provide tea and snacks while the participants freely exchange their experiences informally. The experiment was successful to a good extent.

Unique Experiences

The

personalities mentioned in my book having strange and unique instances spoke with authority.

The list of suggestions is attached as Appendix 'C'.

The Burning topic of some participants was – Why predictions go wrong? 'How come the past of

person comes 100% accurate whereas the future events do not come true as predicted?

It was not possible to provide satisfactory answer to each and every one. But the topic has been clearly explained by Prof. Adwayanand Galatge in his Marathi book- (

विजà¥à¤žà¤¾à¤¨ आणि अंधशà¥à¤°à¤¦à¥à¤§à¤¾ निरà¥à¤®à¥à¤²à¤¨) –

'Science and Blind Faith Eradication'.

Wing Commander Oak proved the point that the purpose of Great Maharshees was not only to divine 100% accurate predictions but to a great extent make the karma theory happen smoothly. He gave a live example of late Flying Officer Dhananjay Mote.

The explanation in Marathi is attached as Appendix 'D'. How the divining on palm leaves is extremely impossible explained in

Appendix 'E'.

Galatge is available in Marathi and in English in the book 'Bodh Andhshrddhecha'

Script of his address is attached as Appendix 'F'

Resolutions passed Before the vote of thanks by Prof. Mrs. Nutan Apte, Four resolutions were passed unanimously.

They text of resolutions in Marathi is placed as Appendix 'G'. English version will be put up shortly.

Sum up

The greetings from many Naadi lovers came in time. Some were late. The financial support given by willing Naadi lovers was overwhelming. The Naadi Maharshees will provide insight on the next happening of this type of event in future.

Prof.Dr.S.N.Arseculeratne fom Colombo and Prof.Dr S .Samanbandan and other Dear friends, Nice to read some of the comments received and placements on the webgroup . 1) I hope you have read the minutes of the conference carefully. Your commments for the suggestions put up in the Appendix 'C' for the Naadi centres to follows meticulously are awaited. 2) That the age of the Naadi palm leaves needs to be established is a requirement to be studied by the expert in the field. One such attempt of Carbon 14 test had been already conducted in

GERMANY- the institute of Ion Radiation Physics Department placed in Nuclear Research Centre Rosesrendorph by Thomas Ritter. Mr. Ritter had written a book in German language titled, "The secret of Indian Palm leaf Libraries." 3) That Naadi divination has been the result of Karna Pishachha as is called in North India or Yakshini Vidhya in South India as true or not needs to be checked with the predictons. Because Karna Pishachhaya method TELLS predictions but Naadi reader READS from the palm leaf, OR ATLEAST PRETENDS TO READ LEAF. Whether predictions are really written on the leaf or not is the real issue. This test was conducted. The photographs were taken of the leaf and enlarged photo was shown to the rationalists and

scientists of international repute. Please read the attachment for the detailed objections and the replies by Shri G. EASHWARAN a representative of Naadi Readers in Pune. The same has been placed on the files of this group. It was told to them to establish that the name in two dots be read to dismiss the tall claims made by the lovers of the Naadi Palm astrologers. Up till now no one came forward to dismiss the claim. Those Tamilians who had tried to read has only confirmed the name written in it.The detailed description is available in the book tiltled -'Naadi Predictions - A Mind Boggling Miracle'. 4) Through this forum I request all those TAMILIANS to come forward for the same and read at least their names in the leaf. If requested in proper and soft manner they generally accept the request. Because of insistence of Naadi Lovers in Pune, some of the

Naadi Centres in Pune these days have started to show the names even to the person who do not know the script. 5) Can any one wishes came forward to help to make Dictionary Of Naadi Words From Tamil to English ? Please read the speech by Dr G John Samuel Director Institute of Asian Studies Chennai. Appendix 'G' to the minutes of the Conference on Naadi Astrology. 6) To read more about the same Please see Appendix 'B'. 7) Expecting some positive (ready to study) responses from the group friends. Wing Commander Shashikant Oak. Pune, India.
