I've given up. I can't even get even the time locked demo version of KP Astro. I don't mind buying a software that comes with a dongle so that in case of harddrive loss i can install it on another box but software that's locked to specific machine and when virus hits you or you lose hard drive one needs to pay another $$$$ to buy that software. KP Astro comes with a hardware dongle but they don't ship outside of India. Hence, I've decided to write one using swiss ephemeries, without using atlas file. I think people can get longitude latitude information from many sites. I am planning to make it available in public domain free of change using .NET GUI Version. The software will be complately free from any charges and I'll post it here. Those who are interested in source will give it under GNU license (for free). I know the old ayanamasha formula. 2) I know about 1 to 249 lagna points and sub subs. What is the other one? (2048? or something? That's what GNU is about. We'll slowly add so many features into this open source that most like people won't need commercial software or pay for one. This will work on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 and longhorn. Sorry! I am not planning to write it for Mac or other plateforms. I thought to use .NET but then I ended up writting in C++. I might ask for help. The help will be in the field to create a database for places with timezone and longtitude and latitude mappings. I can use ACS atlas but it's commercial and bit expensive $1000/-. There is already a webservice www.astro.com has a place lookup feature on their site. People can use it for free. The problem is not creating the database. The problem is timezones. Each country decides their own Day light saving. Some are fixed every year some changes every year. This makes it little complicated. I might ask for help from time to time. Thanks for all patiences. If they wants to build something out of it they can but it needs to goto public domain. That's what i meant by commercial activities, under that only selling of this software and something new built on top of it will be prohibited, but people can use it for their business of astrology.
