Dear Unmesh,

How would this work. Any outsider will have to write to a member and ask him to

propose his name. So know your customer norms kick in. Also does the seconding

member becomes a guardian for the new member, and can act as moderator in case

of problem of unhealthy transactions?

People, facts and opinion are all the time intermingled, and that is the reality

of life.

Dear Dr.Rahul (Our Moderator),

After such unfortunate event of banning the persons

from the group, I feel that we have good number of

astrologers, very knowledgable and senior as well, we

should restrict the membership only through referels

to avoid misuse of such good group. This will have

some exclusivity towards good exchange of knowledge.

My best wishes,

Regards,

Dear Friends,

This seems like cutting of the nose to spite one's face...

A typically bureucratic approach, instead of punishing the

offender, exemplarily, everyone is put to inconvenience... !

Everybody should be free to membership of this

forum...indecent or rude and deliberately offensive/insulting comments should be

suitably edited or the offending lines should be blacked out...by the

Editor, with a suitable warning to the offender...

Isn't this site meant for improving one's knowledge...being

based on the premise that knowledge is limitless...the more one learns, one

discovers, how much he still needs to learn...! !

Thus the idea of " limiting " membership is,in my humble

opinion not a very good idea...at all.

With best wishes,

L.Y.Rao.

Friends,

I would largely go along with this. May be we can evolve a system where any

member can straightaway report 'an abuse' transparently. Dont go into detail,

Just say this post is an abuse.By doing so you are not enlarging it to a forest

fire. Then we can have a system by which we filter the mail from that

particular person. And then the 'supervisor' can take a look at the mail, AT HIS

OWN TIME, and we should shift the response of " not proved guilty' on the one

accused of abuse. The supervisor need not enter into a great discussion with the

accused, but direct him that his communication should be a logical argument and

without getting into abusive mode. The offender should be made to reframe his

mail, until the supervisor feels it is fine now. The reframed mail should be

posted with a note that his access to the group has now again been enabled.

If we stick to this process, the supervisor's load will be really limted, for we

dont get so many 'abuses' of code of communication. If the supervisor has to

check out each mail, I dont know if he will find it acceptable. Perhaps he will,

for as a member of the group he will any way read most of the mail So why not

glance through before passing on to the group.

Food for thought!

A follow up on my suggestions:

There is an age old saying Don't trouble trouble until trouble troubles you " .

I am now wondering if trying to tackle trouble could end up creating more

trouble, and not worth the effort.
