gem stone weight

Dear All,

I invite ur views on this contraversial subject. In India, people who

believe in astrology & want to go for astral remedies, for buying a

gem stone, always have money constraint. in the available funds it's

always difficult to balance between quality & weight of the stones.

I'v seen many people giving more importance to the weight which

should be min. 4.66 carats, whereas some people have views that

quality is more important & even good quality stone with 1.5 carat

can be effective. Can someone provide any vedic text reference where

anything is mentioned about min. weight of the stone & or about the

quality/weight parameters?

dear rajas,

u have brought up a very good issue about gemstones. in India, the

accepted norm is to wear gemstone according to the chandra rasi.there

is a wide difference in the weight of gems to be worn, in many books.

one more thing is that many people advice gems of malefic planets.

Kp suggests benefic planet gems.
