How about something fun... Nobody loves football here ?

I am having a little fun predicting cup matches. Using SA classics I

predicted (to my wife) that, for a start, France would win against its last

two opponents, Togo and Spain, despite the general feeling that Spain would

win. Tomorow I think that Brasil will beat France.

Of course, I put all feelings aside. Only astrology, no sentiments..-..

Lets have your bets, folks, what are you, astrologers ?

Hello Jorge and others

Oh Oh... Since Italy won, several of us here predicted wrong including me... Given the chart below for Italy, its unclear to me why afflictions to Sun by rahu, jupiter by Mars, Moon by ketu, and weak mercury by Rahu, didnt affect it. There is no transit strength to be noted save of the 12th Lord.

Similarly about the "wonderful" transits over Germanys chart.. to no avail !! Have we got the exact charts ?

Dear Mr. Pierre Touchard,

First of all, thank you for bringing up the World Cup for discussion.

It is no doubt a fun, lighthearted exercise.

Sometimes, I think we place too much emphasis on transits while

forgetting about the potentialities of the natal chart.

It is clear that Italy possesses a superior natal chart than does

Germany. Italy is in the sub-period of Jupiter, who is under the exact

affliction of Mars. Jupiter is exalted, however. Germany is in the

sub-period of Ketu in the main-period of MMP Saturn, and the former is

causing exact MEP afflictions. So, while neither sub-period is

particularly great, Italy's sub-period of exalted Jupiter has the

definite edge over Germany's sub-period of Ketu.

Sub-periods of Ketu can be notoriously slow in a material sense.

Dear Mr. Pierre Touchard,

My mistake...Italy is in the sub-period of Saturn, not Jupiter.

Saturn is the MBP for Scorpio ascendant and is closely conjunct the

MEP of the 10th house, ruling status, reputation, etc.

So, the same reasoning for the importance of the natal chart is still

applicable. There is an even larger difference in the quality of

sub-periods between Italy and Germany now, with Italy having the

drastic edge.

I think that our wrong prediction has more

to do with us than with the chartsâ€¦we have to combine always the dasha with the

transit, and I think we were looking mainly to the transits, not giving proper

attention to the dasha. Seeing it from the positive sideâ€¦it was a good learning

exercise.

How about something fun... Nobody loves football here ?

I am having a little fun predicting cup matches. Using SA classics I

predicted (to my wife) that, for a start, France would win against its last

two opponents, Togo and Spain, despite the general feeling that Spain would

win. Tomorow I think that Brasil will beat France.

Of course, I put all feelings aside. Only astrology, no sentiments..-..

Dear Mr. Angelino,

I am in full agreement with you. I mentioned the same in my messages

to Mr. Pierre. Italy was in the sub-period of its MBP who is

reasonably strong and is:

- Prominently placed in the 10th house

- Is closely conjunct the MEP, and is aspecting its own MT-sign (this

could be a very powerful factor, especially for national pride)

- Is the MBP

- In the royal sign of Leo, with dispositor Sun having close to full

strength

Presuming France advances past Portugal, the final match should be

very close.

In addition to the transits, we have to weigh the above factors for

Italy's sub-period with those of France's sub-period of strong L10 Mars.

I think the sub-periods are a push. Maybe France has the edge, but

even this is debatable thanks to the reasonable strength and MEP

influences of Saturn.

The transits for Cancer ascendant and for France are superior to those

of Scorpio ascendant and for Italy. The bad placements of Sun and

Jupiter do not bode well for the latter.

Sub-period lord Saturn will be weak in transit on the account of final

dispositor Jupiter for Italy. Sub-period lord Mars will be weak on the

account of debilitation, old age, and bad placement of its dispositor

Moon. Here, Italy holds the edge.

It should be a nailbiter of a finale, with France having oh so slight

of an astrological edge. It could come down to a single penalty kick

difference.

LOL...yes it is quite enjoyable. I am an avid sports fan myself,

though honestly soccer is not one of my favorite sports. Personally, I

Dear Mr. Angelino,

I am in full agreement with you. I mentioned the same in my messages

to Mr. Pierre. Italy was in the sub-period of its MBP who is

reasonably strong and is:

- Prominently placed in the 10th house

- Is closely conjunct the MEP, and is aspecting its own MT-sign (this

could be a very powerful factor, especially for national pride)

- Is the MBP

- In the royal sign of Leo, with dispositor Sun having close to full

strength

Presuming France advances past Portugal, the final match should be

very close.

In addition to the transits, we have to weigh the above factors for

Italy's sub-period with those of France's sub-period of strong L10 Mars.

I think the sub-periods are a push. Maybe France has the edge, but

even this is debatable thanks to the reasonable strength and MEP

influences of Saturn.

The transits for Cancer ascendant and for France are superior to those

of Scorpio ascendant and for Italy. The bad placements of Sun and

Jupiter do not bode well for the latter.

Sub-period lord Saturn will be weak in transit on the account of final

dispositor Jupiter for Italy. Sub-period lord Mars will be weak on the

account of debilitation, old age, and bad placement of its dispositor

Moon. Here, Italy holds the edge.

It should be a nailbiter of a finale, with France having oh so slight

of an astrological edge. It could come down to a single penalty kick

difference.

Dear Mr. Pierre Touchard,

Yes, ESPN television here in the USA showed plenty of close-up shots

of Mr. Prodi.

Saturn is also the planet of the masses and could be a karaka for

democracy in general. If I am not mistaken, Mr. Prodi is a member of

the L'Unione party, which represents left-of-center views. These too

come under the umbrella of Saturn, as it represents the needs of the

masses.

As for the corruption-filled rule of Mr. Berlusconi, I agree with you.

Jupiter's transit of Scorpio and then Sagittarius will help enhance

the nation's overall status. The transit of Saturn through Leo in the

upcoming years will be of very good help as well. All of this will
