Dear Jorge and list, Thank you for the rectification, Jorge. By rectifying a chart when the opening time is known, you are suggesting the first trade took place some ninety seconds after the opening of the exchange. This raises the question of what is more important, the bourse being open for business at 10 AM sharp, or the first exchange on the new bourse, implied by your rectification to have occurred at 10:01:44 AM. In fact, this raises the conceptual question for all IPO charts, which heretofore have been rectified on the assumption of "open for business" time - i.e. 9:30 AM in New York after September 30, 1985 (10:00 AM before that). I could mention that, while the time of the stock exchange is used, the location of the headquarters office is also used for such charts. In relation to this, it could also be

mentioned that if an original listing on a local stock exchange took place prior to a listing on a national (Nasdaq, NYSE etc.) stock exchange, the local listing is considered the more important for predictive purposes, as per . While these issues are very important, that wasn´t to be the major thrust of this message. It was intended to share with you the attached two graphs, which show that the greatest turmoil on the Nasdaq exchange - both highs and lows - occurred from the spring of 2000 and into the spring of 2003. It is true that October 1987 was also a very tense time for the Nasdaq AND the NYSE, but that crisis was of a much shorter duration and nothing compared to the long standing stress of recent years. This suggests the transit affliction from early 2000 was relatively more long standing (involving stationary afflictions) and that there were some

exact hits involving back-to-back such stationary afflictions in tandem with challenging period. I suggest the Nasdaq chart be analysed with a view to the above. Dearest Jorge,

Thank you for your efforts in this rectification. I am always astounded by

your special talent and ability in this area. I have the chart and will look

closer.

From this chart, this week should see a rise as Ve is on H1 MEP even though

Ma is weak. Overall, there should be some fluctuations as Ra-Ma are close.

Best regards,

Vyas Munidas

Some of the events/facts used in the rectification:

Natal Ra/Ke Stationary

NASDAQ (originally an acronym for National Association of Securities Dealers

Automated Quotations) is an American electronic stock exchange. It was

founded in 1971 by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD),

who divested it in a series of sales in 2000 and 2001. It is owned and

operated by The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (NASDAQ: NDAQ) which was listed on

its own stock exchange in 2002. NASDAQ is the largest electronic

screen-based equity securities market in the United States. With

approximately 3,300 companies, it lists more companies and, on average,

trades more shares per day than any other U.S. market.

When it began trading on February 8, 1971, it was the world's first

electronic stock market. At first, it was merely a computer bulletin board

system and did not actually connect buyers and sellers. The NASDAQ helped

lower the " spread " , but paradoxically was unpopular among brokerages because

they made much of their money on the spread. Over the years, NASDAQ became

more of a stock market by adding trade and volume reporting and automated

trading systems. NASDAQ was also the first stock market to advertise to the

general public, highlighting NASDAQ-traded companies (usually in technology)

and closing with the declaration that NASDAQ was " the stock market for the

next hundred years " .

Until 1987, most trading occurred via the telephone, but during the 1987

market crash, market makers often didn't answer their phones. To counteract

this, the Small Order Execution System was established, which provides an

electronic method for dealers to enter their trades. NASDAQ requires market

makers to honor trades over SOES.

On July 17, 1995 the NASDAQ stock index closed above the 1,000 mark for the

first time. The index peaked at 5132.52 on March 10, 2000, which signaled

the beginning of the end of the dot-com stock market bubble. The index

declined to half its value within a year and is still valued at less than

half its peak. However, NASDAQ is now the largest U.S. electronic stock

market.

NASDAQ later pulled its bid, and less than two weeks later on April 11,

2006, struck a deal with LSE's largest shareholder, Ameriprise Financial's

Threadneedle Asset Management unit, to acquire all of that firm's stake,

consisting of 35.4 million shares, at £11.75 per share.

Despite the high tech image of NASDAQ, squirrels have brought down the

electronic exchange twice. A squirrel knocked out the power in 1994, and the

NASDAQ system failed to roll over to its battery backup, causing an

interruption in trading of one half hour. In 1987, a squirrel entered a

transformer and caused a power surge, halting trading for 82 minutes. Other

instances of downtime have occurred when computer systems have unexpectedly

rebooted or software upgrades have gone awry.

February 1971 at 10 am as the open for the Nasdaq. Which is the correct date

to use?

An adventurous squirrel touched off a power failure in Trumbull, Conn.,

automatic quotation service for 82 minutes yesterday.

A Nasdaq official estimated that the power failure might have kept

slightly more than 20 million shares from being traded. [......]

Nasdaq once again was shut down by an energetic squirrel who apparently

chomped on a power line near the stock market's computer center in Trumbull,

Connecticut, yesterday. The system failed to perform the automatic

switchover to the temporary backup power supply (designed to last until the

backup system in Rockville, Maryland, could be brought up), and consequently

the market was down for 34 minutes. A similar problem occurred in December

READER: I'm doing astrological research on the Nasdaq Composite but I'm not

sure of the correct first trade date. The Nasdaq website states that trading

officially began on 8 February 1971 at 10 am but another source gives 5

February 1971 at 10 am as the open for the Nasdaq. Which is the correct date

to use?

The NASDAQ website lists Feb. 8, 1971 as their first date of trade.

Dear Cosmologer,

Thanks for your message.

It is an interesting question indeed.

For what I have seen, 10 am (NY or Washington) does

not justify all the events. The correct TOB needs to be in between 10:01:44 and 10:01:45, but closer to 10:01:44, at Washington, where NASDAQ

headquartes were placed at that time.

In October 1987, NASDAQ was in Me/Ke, and for Aries lagna, both are FMPs, but Ketu is the MMP. Rahu/Ketu

was placed in H12/H6, afflicting all the remaining even houses. Mars, L1, was

also in H6, and Saturn, L11, was in H8.

Between 2000 and 2003, several sub-periods

were operational:

Me/Sa: Mercury is debilitated

in navamsha, and afflicts the Moon in rashi. Saturn is exalted in navamsha, but

severally afflicted. From the spring 2000 till end of August 2000, the nodes were afflicting all

the even MEPs.

Ke/Ke: from November 2001 till

April 2002, it must have been very difficult. It began with Rahu/Ketu stationary

over the odd MEPs till February 2002.

Ke/Ve: in navamsha Venus rules

H6, and is afflicted by Mars, Jupiter and Rahu, all of them placed in

dusthanas. From April 2002 to August 2002, the Sun, L5, was afflicted by stationary

Rahu. The next station of Rahu/Ketu was over natal Mars, L1, and natal Jupiter,

L9. After March 2003, the nodes have been afflicting all the even houses and

natal Moon and Mercury.

I believe a lot of work has to be done

regarding all the “approximate†TOB charts being used by Western Astrologers.

Learning SA would be a very positive

choice for all of them.

Best wishes,

Jorge

Re: NASDAQ

rectified chart

Dear Jorge and list,

Thank you for the

rectification, Jorge.

By rectifying a chart

when the opening time is known, you are suggesting the first trade took

place some ninety seconds after the opening of the exchange. This raises

the question of what is more important, the bourse being open for business

at 10 AM sharp, or the first exchange on the new bourse, implied by

your rectification to have occurred at 10:01:44 AM.

In fact, this raises the

conceptual question for all IPO charts, which heretofore have been

rectified on the assumption of " open for business " time - i.e.

9:30 AM in New York after September 30, 1985 (10:00 AM before that). I

could mention that, while the time of the stock exchange is used, the

location of the headquarters office is also used for such charts. In relation

to this, it could also be mentioned that if an original listing on a local

stock exchange took place prior to a listing on a national

(Nasdaq, NYSE etc.) stock exchange, the local listing is considered the

more important for predictive purposes, as per .

While these issues are

very important, that wasn´t to be the major thrust of this

message. It was intended to share with you the attached two graphs,

which show that the greatest turmoil on the Nasdaq exchange - both highs and

lows - occurred from the spring of 2000 and into the spring of 2003. It is

true that October 1987 was also a very tense time for the Nasdaq AND the NYSE,

long standing stress of recent years. This suggests the transit affliction

from early 2000 was relatively more long standing (involving stationary afflictions)

and that there were some exact hits involving back-to-back such stationary

afflictions in tandem with challenging period.

I suggest the Nasdaq

chart be analysed with a view to the above.

> NASDAQ (originally an acronym for National Association of Securities

Dealers Automated Quotations) is an American electronic stock exchange. It was

founded in 1971 by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), who

divested it in a series of sales in 2000 and 2001. It is owned and operated by

The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (NASDAQ: NDAQ) which was listed on its own stock

exchange in 2002. NASDAQ is the largest electronic screen-based equity

securities market in the United States. With approximately 3,300 companies, it

lists more companies and, on average, trades more shares per day than any other

U.S. market.

>

>

>

> When it began trading on February 8, 1971, it was the world's first

electronic stock market. At first, it was merely a computer bulletin board

system and did not actually connect buyers and sellers. The NASDAQ helped lower

the " spread " , but paradoxically was unpopular among brokerages

because they made much of their money on the spread. Over the years, NASDAQ

became more of a stock market by adding trade and volume reporting and

automated trading systems. NASDAQ was also the first stock market to advertise

to the general public, highlighting NASDAQ-traded companies (usually in

technology) and closing with the declaration that NASDAQ was " the stock

market for the next hundred years " .

>

>

>

>

>

>

> On July 17, 1995 the NASDAQ stock index closed above the 1,000 mark for

the first time. The index peaked at 5132.52 on March 10, 2000, which signaled

the beginning of the end of the dot-com stock market bubble. The index declined

to half its value within a year and is still valued at less than half its peak.

However, NASDAQ is now the largest U.S. electronic stock market.

>

>

>

>

>

>

Dear Jorge and cosmologer:I don't know why Nasdaq MEP is coming up at Aries 3deg 26min at 10 AM in your program. It should be 8deg 26 min. This puts Venus, Mars, Moon and Mercury on the MEP.I would like to add my my affirmative voice on the validity of the first trade charts.I have been using them for 3 years, and quite correctly predicting the movement of stock prices, and making real money. If a stock is listed on multiple exchanges, the one that starts trading first should be used. My research suggests that the place of the stock exchange should be used not the corporate office. If any one of you want, I can give specific examples. Raj ChadhaJorge Angelino <jorge.angelino wrote: Dear Cosmologer, Thanks for your message. It is an interesting question indeed. For what I have seen, 10 am (NY or Washington) does not justify all the events. The correct TOB needs to be in between 10:01:44 and 10:01:45, but closer to 10:01:44, at Washington, where NASDAQ headquartes were placed at that time. In October 1987, NASDAQ was in Me/Ke, and for Aries lagna, both are FMPs, but Ketu is the MMP. Rahu/Ketu was placed in H12/H6, afflicting all the remaining even houses. Mars, L1, was also in H6, and Saturn, L11, was in H8. Between 2000 and 2003, several sub-periods were

operational: Me/Sa: Mercury is debilitated in navamsha, and afflicts the Moon in rashi. Saturn is exalted in navamsha, but severally afflicted. From the spring 2000 till end of August 2000, the nodes were afflicting all the even MEPs. Ke/Ke:

from November 2001 till April 2002, it must have been very difficult. It began with Rahu/Ketu stationary over the odd MEPs till February 2002. Ke/Ve: in navamsha Venus rules H6, and is afflicted by Mars, Jupiter and Rahu, all of them

placed in dusthanas. From April 2002 to August 2002, the Sun, L5, was afflicted by stationary Rahu. The next station of Rahu/Ketu was over natal Mars, L1, and natal Jupiter, L9. After March 2003, the nodes have been afflicting all the even houses and natal Moon and Mercury. I believe a lot of work has to be done regarding all the “approximate†TOB charts being used by Western Astrologers. Learning SA would be a very positive choice for all of them. Best wishes, Jorge SAMVA [sAMVA ] On Behalf Of Cosmologer segunda-feira, 29 de Maio de 2006 23:05 samva Re: NASDAQ rectified chart Dear Jorge and list, Thank you for the rectification, Jorge. By rectifying a chart when the opening time is known, you are suggesting the first trade took place some ninety seconds after the opening of the exchange. This raises the question of what is more

important, the bourse being open for business at 10 AM sharp, or the first exchange on the new bourse, implied by your rectification to have occurred at 10:01:44 AM. In relation to this, it could also be mentioned that if an original listing on a local stock

exchange took place prior to a listing on a national (Nasdaq, NYSE etc.) stock exchange, the local listing is considered the more important for predictive purposes, as per . While these issues are very important, that wasn´t to be the major thrust of this message. It was intended to share with you the attached two graphs, which show that the greatest turmoil on the Nasdaq exchange - both highs and lows - occurred from the spring of 2000 and into the spring of 2003. It is true that October 1987 was also a very tense time for the Nasdaq AND the NYSE, but that crisis was of a much shorter

duration and nothing compared to the long standing stress of recent years. This suggests the transit affliction from early 2000 was relatively more long standing (involving stationary afflictions) and that there were some exact hits involving back-to-back such stationary afflictions in tandem with challenging period. I suggest the Nasdaq chart be analysed with a view to the above. Best regards, C SAMVA , "Jorge Angelino" <jorge.angelino wrote: > > Dear List Members, > > > > This is the rectified chart of: > > > > NASDAQ

Some of the events/facts used in the rectification:

Natal Ra/Ke Stationary

NASDAQ (originally an acronym for National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations) is an American electronic stock exchange. It was founded in 1971 by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), who divested it in a series of sales in 2000 and 2001. It is owned and operated by The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (NASDAQ: NDAQ) which was listed on its own stock exchange in 2002. NASDAQ is the largest electronic screen-based equity securities market in the United States. With approximately 3,300 companies, it lists more companies and, on average, trades more shares per day than any other U.S. market.

When it began trading on February 8, 1971, it was the world's first electronic stock market. At first, it was merely a computer bulletin board system and did not actually connect buyers and sellers. The NASDAQ helped lower the "spread", but paradoxically was unpopular among brokerages because they made much of their money on the spread. Over the years, NASDAQ became more of a stock market by adding trade and volume reporting and automated trading systems. NASDAQ was also the first stock market to advertise to the general public, highlighting NASDAQ-traded companies (usually in technology) and closing with the declaration that NASDAQ was "the stock market for the next hundred years".

Until 1987, most trading occurred via the telephone, but during the 1987 market crash, market makers often didn't answer their phones. To counteract this, the Small Order Execution System was established, which provides an electronic method for dealers to enter their trades. NASDAQ requires market makers to honor trades over SOES.

On July 17, 1995 the NASDAQ stock index closed above the 1,000 mark for the first time. The index peaked at 5132.52 on March 10, 2000, which signaled the beginning of the end of the dot-com stock market bubble. The index declined to half its value within a year and is still valued at less than half its peak. However, NASDAQ is now the largest U.S. electronic stock market.

NASDAQ later pulled its bid, and less than two weeks later on April 11, 2006, struck a deal with LSE's largest shareholder, Ameriprise Financial's Threadneedle Asset Management unit, to acquire all of that firm's stake, consisting of 35.4 million shares, at £11.75 per share.

Despite the high tech image of NASDAQ, squirrels have brought down the electronic exchange twice. A squirrel knocked out the power in 1994, and the NASDAQ system failed to roll over to its battery backup, causing an interruption in trading of one half hour. In 1987, a squirrel entered a transformer and caused a power surge, halting trading for 82 minutes. Other instances of downtime have occurred when computer systems have unexpectedly rebooted or software upgrades have gone awry.

Dear Raj Chadha,

The headquarters of NASDAQ at that time were

in Washington, DC.

The rectified time is the same for both

places. If you prefer the chart for New

York, fine. However, the rectified chart works

better for Washington, DC. The only difference lies in the rising degree, i.e., in the MEPs.

In New York, it is 9:07, and in Washington, DC, it is 3:26.

Best wishes,

Jorge

RE: NASDAQ

rectified chart

Dear Jorge and

cosmologer:

I don't know why Nasdaq MEP is coming up at Aries 3deg 26min at 10 AM in your

program. It should be 8deg 26 min. This puts Venus, Mars, Moon and Mercury on

the MEP.

I would like to add my my affirmative voice on the validity of the first trade

charts.

I have been using them for 3 years, and quite correctly predicting the movement

of stock prices, and making real money. If a stock is listed on multiple

exchanges, the one that starts trading first should be used. My research

suggests that the place of the stock exchange should be used not the corporate

office.

If any one of you want, I can give specific examples.

Dear

Cosmologer,

Thanks

for your message.

It is an

interesting question indeed.

For what

I have seen, 10 am (NY or Washington) does not justify all the events. The

correct TOB needs to be in between 10:01:44 and 10:01:45, but closer to 10:01:44,

at Washington, where NASDAQ headquartes were placed at that time.

In

October 1987, NASDAQ was in Me/Ke, and for Aries lagna,

both are FMPs, but Ketu is the MMP. Rahu/Ketu was placed in H12/H6, afflicting

all the remaining even houses. Mars, L1, was also in H6, and Saturn, L11, was

in H8.

Between

2000 and 2003, several sub-periods were operational:

Me/Sa: Mercury is debilitated in navamsha, and afflicts the Moon in

rashi. Saturn is exalted in navamsha, but severally afflicted. From the spring

2000 till end of August 2000, the nodes were afflicting all the even MEPs.

Ke/Ke: from

November 2001 till April 2002, it must have been very difficult. It began with

Rahu/Ketu stationary over the odd MEPs till February 2002.

Ke/Ve: in navamsha Venus rules H6, and is afflicted by Mars, Jupiter and

Rahu, all of them placed in dusthanas. From April 2002 to August 2002, the Sun,

L5, was afflicted by stationary Rahu. The next station of Rahu/Ketu was over

natal Mars, L1, and natal Jupiter, L9. After March 2003, the nodes have been

afflicting all the even houses and natal Moon and Mercury.

I

believe a lot of work has to be done regarding all the “approximate†TOB

charts being used by Western Astrologers.

Learning

SA would be a very positive choice for all of them.

Best

wishes,

Re: NASDAQ

rectified chart

It is

true that October 1987 was also a very tense time for the Nasdaq AND the NYSE,

but that crisis was of a much shorter duration and nothing compared to the

long standing stress of recent years. This suggests the transit affliction

from early 2000 was relatively more long standing (involving stationary

afflictions) and that there were some exact hits involving back-to-back

such stationary afflictions in tandem with challenging period.

>

>

>

Over the years, NASDAQ

became more of a stock market by adding trade and volume reporting and automated

trading systems.

>

>

>

>

>

>

>

>

>

>

NASDAQ (originally

an acronym for National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations)

is an American electronic stock exchange. It was founded in 1971 by the

National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), who divested it in a series

of sales in 2000 and 2001. It is owned and operated by The Nasdaq Stock Market,

Inc. (NASDAQ: NDAQ) which was listed on its own stock exchange in 2002. NASDAQ

is the largest electronic screen-based equity securities market in the United

States. With approximately 3,300 companies, it lists more companies and, on

average, trades more shares per day than any other U.S. market.

When it began

trading on February 8, 1971, it was the world's first electronic stock market.

At first, it was merely a computer bulletin board system and did not actually

connect buyers and sellers. The NASDAQ helped lower the " spread " , but

paradoxically was unpopular among brokerages because they made much of their

money on the spread. Over the years, NASDAQ became more of a stock market by

adding trade and volume reporting and automated trading systems. NASDAQ was

also the first stock market to advertise to the general public, highlighting

NASDAQ-traded companies (usually in technology) and closing with the

declaration that NASDAQ was " the stock market for the next hundred

years " .

Until 1987, most

trading occurred via the telephone, but during the 1987 market crash, market

makers often didn't answer their phones. To counteract this, the Small Order

Execution System was established, which provides an electronic method for

dealers to enter their trades. NASDAQ requires market makers to honor trades

over SOES.

On July 17, 1995 the

NASDAQ stock index closed above the 1,000 mark for the first time. The index

peaked at 5132.52 on March 10, 2000, which signaled the beginning of the end of

the dot-com stock market bubble. The index declined to half its value within a

year and is still valued at less than half its peak. However, NASDAQ is now the

largest U.S. electronic stock market.

NASDAQ later pulled

its bid, and less than two weeks later on April 11, 2006, struck a deal with

LSE's largest shareholder, Ameriprise Financial's Threadneedle Asset Management

unit, to acquire all of that firm's stake, consisting of 35.4 million shares,

at £11.75 per share.

Despite the high

tech image of NASDAQ, squirrels have brought down the electronic exchange

twice. A squirrel knocked out the power in 1994, and the NASDAQ system failed

to roll over to its battery backup, causing an interruption in trading of one

half hour. In 1987, a squirrel entered a transformer and caused a power surge,

halting trading for 82 minutes. Other instances of downtime have occurred when

computer systems have unexpectedly rebooted or software upgrades have gone

awry.

READER: I'm doing astrological

research on the Nasdaq Composite but I'm not sure of the correct first trade

date. The Nasdaq website states that trading officially began on 8 February

1971 at 10 am but another source gives 5 February 1971 at 10 am as the open for

the Nasdaq. Which is the correct date to use?

HW: According to

Michael Munkassy:

The NASDAQ website

lists Feb. 8, 1971 as their first date of trade.

Stray Rodent Halts

Nasdaq Computers, by Kenneth N. Gilpin

NYT Thursday,

Dec 10, 1987, p.33

An adventurous

squirrel touched off a power failure in Trumbull, Conn.,

that shut

down the National Association of Securities Dealers'

automatic quotation

A Nasdaq

official estimated that the power failure might have kept

slightly more

than 20 million shares from being traded. [......]

Squirrels again

bring down Nasdaq

Tue, 2 Aug 94

7:55:36 PDT

Nasdaq once again

was shut down by an energetic squirrel who apparently

chomped on a power

line near the stock market's computer center in Trumbull,

Connecticut, yesterday.

The system failed to perform the automatic

switchover to the

temporary backup power supply (designed to last until the

backup system in

Rockville, Maryland, could be brought up), and consequently

the market was down

for 34 minutes. A similar problem occurred in December

1987. (A

2.5-hour outage on 15 July was reported in RISKS-16.25, due to

risky software

upgrades.)
