A LIFE BEGINS: George Washington was born on February 11, 1731/32 (Julian Calendar, which is February 22, 1732 (new style). His birthday is celebrated publicly on the Gregorian (new style) calendar date of February 22nd, Washington, however, always celebrated with his family of February 11th.
