Guest guest
Thursday, 23 February 2006, 10:09 GMT Russia roof collapse toll rises Market traders were setting up when the roof collapsed At least 23 people were killed and nearly 30 injured when the snow-covered roof of a market collapsed in Moscow, Russian officials have said. Rescuers are racing against time to find at least 10 people believed to be alive under the rubble at the market in the eastern Bauman district. Survivors were reported to be using mobile phones to help guide rescuers. Officials believe the early morning disaster may have been caused by the weight of snow on the roof. " We are working at full strength all over the territory of the market, " Yuri Akimov of the emergency situations ministry, said. " Rescue workers are working underneath the building to save those still alive, and we are hoping to save the majority of them. " Emergency Situations Minister Sergei Shoigu told reporters at the scene that those who were trapped under the rubble had been " knocking and crying out " and using their phones to help rescuers. Heavy machinery could not be brought to clear the debris because of the people trapped beneath, he said. Accident investigation The accident happened at 0545 (0245 GMT) on what is a national holiday in Russia. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4742134.stm Dasha: Ra/Ke/Me/Mo/Ma satva Jorge Angelino Rua da Sociedade Filarmónica Perpétua Azeitonense, 29 2925-598 Azeitão Portugal jorge.angelino tel: mobile: 210813674 963916784 Add me to your address book... Guest guest
..> Dear Jorge. I have just noticed you are using an August 1991 chart for Russia, yet the SAMVA Rectified Countries File cites June 1990 as the chart for Russia, which I have been using for my study of the Olympic medal standings. If you are using charts rectified after your SAMVA file posting, would you be so kind as to ensure the SAMVA file is up to date, so one does not waste time using an incorrect chart? Best wishes, Chuck > > > > > HYPERLINK " https://www.plaxo.com/add_me? u=21475072036 & v0=451086 & k0=1260191974 " \nAdd me to your address book... > > HYPERLINK " http://www.plaxo.com/signature " \nWant a signature like this? > > > > > -- > > > Version: 7.1.375 / Virus Database: 268.0.0/267 - Release Date: 22.02.2006 >

Guest guest
..> > > Dear Jorge. Thank you for this reference. However, it is often difficult to keep on top of all the posts. I missed the December post referring to the revised Russia chart. With all due respect, if the SAMVA Rectified Country Chart file is meant to be a resource, it should be kept up to date. Accordingly, I would request that you revise the SAMVA chart file when you either revise or add a rectification. Guest guest
Dear Chuck, The updated SAMVA Rectified Country Chart file is not yet a final resource. Meanwhile, I would suggest you to download it, keep it as a working document so that you can update by yourself as the other list members are doing. Best wishes, Jorge SAMVA [sAMVA ] On Behalf Of wakefieldvedic quinta-feira, 23 de Fevereiro de 2006 23:22 SAMVA Re: RUSSIA - Russia roof collapse toll rises ..> > > Dear Jorge.
