Some of the events/facts

used in the rectification:

" Singapore became a

self-governing state on 3 June 1959, although still a part of the British

Empire. Independence originally came by default due to the delay in the

creation of the Federation of Malaysia, which was scheduled to come into

existence at 00.00 hrs. on 31 August 1963, and Singapore was due to be

transferred from British to Malaysian sovereignty at that moment. As the

formation of Malaysia was postponed until 00.00 hrs. on 16 September 1963,

Singapore became independent at 00.00 hrs. and enjoyed sixteen days as an

independent state ...

" Considerable confusion

surrounds the timing of Singapore's secession

from Malaysia on 9 August 1965 [...] Western reports that the independence of

Singapore took place at 00.01 hrs. were inaccurate, as there was no legal or

public transfer of  power at this time. There may have been a de facto transfer

of a sort as the secession agreement instructed all Malaysian officials in

Singapore to transfer their allegiance to the Singapore government as from 9

August, suggesting de facto independence from 00.00 hrs. [...]

" The Singapore National

Library confirmed that Lee Kwan Yew proclaimed Singapore independence on the

steps of City Hall at 10.00 am. Clearly 10.00 a.m. saw a de facto proclamation

of independence ... The Prime Minister ... opened parliamentary proceedings in

Kualur Lumpur at about 10.00 a.m., and ... they were concluded between 4.00

p.m. and 4.30 p.m., most likely between 4.15 and 4.20 p.m. 'Simultaneously

with the passing of the Bill by both Houses of Parliament, Singapore became

independent.' " Campion, " Book of World

Horoscopes, " pp. 332-333.

In 1959, Singapore became a

self-governing crown colony with Lee Kuan Yew from the People's Action

Party (PAP) as the first Prime Minister of Singapore following the 1959

elections. After a national referendum in 1962, Singapore was admitted into the

Federation of Malaysia along with Malaya, Sabah and Sarawak as a state with autonomous

powers in September 1963. After heated ideological conflict developed between

the state government formed by PAP and the Federal government in Kuala Lumpur,

Singapore was expelled from the federation on August 7, 1965. It gained

official sovereignty two days later on August 9, 1965 with Malaysia the first

country to recognise it as an independent nation, the date becoming Singapore's National

Day.
