Deadly train crash in

Greece

ATHENS, Greece (CNN) -- At

least one person was killed and 13 injured when a train struck a van that was

illegally crossing the tracks in northern Greece, local officials said.

The inter-city train, which was traveling from Thessaloniki to Alexandroupolis with

about 108 passengers on board, struck the van near the town of Strimonas, the officials said.

The driver of the van was killed and at least 13 people on

board the train were injured, three of them seriously, the officials reported.

Firefighters evacuated the other passengers on the train.

The incident is under investigation
