SAN JOSE, Costa Rica (AP) --

Flooding from heavy rains has forced at least 350 people from their homes and

left at least one missing along Costa Rica's northern Caribbean coast,

authorities said Monday.

Rescue workers were searching for 45-year-old Ramiro Madriz,

who was in his car when it was carried away by floodwaters in San Isidro de

Heredia, said Red Cross official Noemy Coto. His wife, who also was with him in

the car, managed to escape.

The Caribbean coast community of Matina was cut off by floodwaters, Coto said.
