Thousands flee from China quake

(CNN) -- At least one person

has been injured and 20,000 people evacuated following a 4.7-magnitude

earthqauke in southwest China's Yunnan province, China's state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The earthquake, which struck about 9:05 a.m. Beijing time Thursday (0100 GMT), affected nearly

100,000 people, Xinhua said, and caused an economic loss of about $6.9 million.

A number of buildings in nine villages and townships

collapsed or sustained damage in the quake, according to the report.
