Introduction

Hi Everyone,

My posts have preceded my introduction to all of you.

I have been reading the posts for a couple of weeks now and have

been on Mark's daily transits newsletter for a couple of months.

I find it all so fascinating and informative. I myself have been

self- studying astrology for the past 5 years. Although, I must

admit I have not been consistent in my aproach. I would say the

last year I have had the time to read more and start to put two and

two together. Prior to that I was concentrating on studying the

Western psychology and delineation in English so as to better

understand the sidereal calculation and its sanskrit interpetation

in Vedic.

I think studying this way is fine.

In fact this is what I love about Western Astrology is that it helps us understand the general, Astrological symbolisms....

Sun represents self, Moon represents emotions, Mercury represents....Intellect,....etc....

I know it is a backwards approach but so far it has

worked for me. Also, I feel there is some relevance in both systems

and that has really intrigued me with chart breakdown and

interpetation.

Soon, I'm going to publish....a more general....

" Best of the West & East " article for our group, and I'd love to see this topic followed up by people.

Unfortunately, I've been so busy this last month, I'm only now, getting organized after a fury, of new people joining our Nature's Astrology group...and

I'm beginning to sense the dust is finally starting to settle...

and am looking forward to this up-coming Waxing Moon cycle...!

So, I am here to learn and share and converse with others!

I am particularly interested in the topics of meditation for self

realization and for a higher level of consciouse and oneness through

the planets and its movements.

This is my favorite aspect or application of Jyotish....

to the entire essence and spiritual aspects of Vedic knowledge, as well....

If you also want to ask some specific questions as to how Jyotish can help us,

in our pursuits of self-realization....and higher consciousness....

we can start that fascinating topic as well!

Also, the house and sign position of

Moon in Taurus - its impact and relevance in a chart as a whole and

individually. And Therese, your blending the signs meanings. I have

done a lot of mythological sign reading. Fascinating!

debra, wow....I love your Moon in Taurus....congratulations...

You should, however, be able to teach us,...and in fact...all others about ...

the fullness, the fulfillment, Exaltation of the Moon!

I've found this, you know, that each of us, has something good, and strong inside of us,

and our charts...

and what better way to learn Jyotish, and to help each other...gain a vision,

a model really....

of what it might be like to have these better planets...

And to me, that's the real purpose of Jyotish anyway, to help us grow in especially, our malefics.

For me, I have 2 good things....

Jupiter in Pisces, in the 6th,....and Sun in Leo, in the 11th House....

sept 4, 1951,....11:17am.... kansas city, Mo....Libra rising...

I've learned the most Jyotish from 2 things...

1)....the Transits,...because each Month the Moon goes through all the Signs....

and when it's exalted and in Cancer, each month, I've learned so much about how the Moon is supposed to be...

Also.... and within the context of a whole year, so many of the other planets go through their signs of Exaltation, too...

the Sun, Mercury, Venus & Mars.... all show us all their signs, within 1 year...

This last year, it was especially blessed for me, cuz I got to pay extraordinary detail to Exalted Jupiter as it was going through Cancer....

2) Secondly, doing so many charts now after all these years.... people themselves...have taught me soooo much about all the status of the planets...

But, my friends who have planets in their own signs, full Moons, or even exalted planets have taught me about.... the full potential of each planet, too!
