Hi list,

It seems the problems facing New Orelans, the social breakdown and the economic damage are far greater than anyone imagined. The whole city is seven feet under water, making many question the feasibility of rebuilding the city. The link is to satelite photos that reveal the extent of the flooding:

Also, the social order appears to has broken down. A very grim picture of the challenges facing survivors is emerging in the news.

The only historical comparions seems to be San Francisco in the aftermath of the great earthquake and fires of 1906. For those, interested to do the astrology research with respect to the US chart, the earthquake struck at 5:12 AM on April 18, 1906.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- It makes no sense to spend billions of dollars to rebuild a city that's seven feet (2.13 meters) under sea level, House Speaker Dennis Hastert said of federal assistance for hurricane-devastated New Orleans.
