Explosion

rocks Trinidad capital

Two

people remain in critical condition after an explosion in the capital of the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago, officials say.

National Security Minister Martin Joseph said a total of 13 people

had been injured in central Port of Spain.

Officials say the blast just after 1400 local time (1800 GMT) was

caused by an explosive device hidden in a rubbish bin a few blocks from

parliament.

But they say it is not clear what kind of device was used, nor who

placed it.

The blast occurred on the corner of Frederick and Queen streets -

the capital's major crossroads.
