Guest guest
Romanian Floods Destroy Homes 9:44 am PST, 30 April 2005 Heavy rain in western Romania has flooded hundreds of villages, forcing nearly 4,000 people to abandon their homes, as well as disrupted rail and road traffic. Television stations showed army helicopters and national guard dinghies arriving at disaster areas to evacuate shivering victims from what authorities called the worst floods in 50 years. Up to 2,000 people, mostly from Timis county at the border with Serbia and Montenegro, were displaced to temporary shelters on nearby highlands. The Environment Ministry says the floods were partly caused by broken 300-year-old dams on the Timis River. http://7am.com/cgi-bin/wires02.cgi?1000_2005043005.htm Dear List Members, Dasha is Sa/Ju/Sa/Mo/Me.
