Guest guest
Living in earthquake country (we get lots of little ones all the time) I have been watching for a few years what happens around new and full moons for earthquakes. They always seem to occur somewhere without fail. - Brian Jorge Angelino wrote: >This is very interesting. Guest guest
Jorge, Yes interesting post that Jorge. I have gone through the following list of the most destructive earthquakes on earth, and those closest to a new or full moon with recorded dates. Those that are close to either a full moon or new moon I have put an approximate note in brackets. Quite a few of the following earthquakes appear to have happened within a couple of days of a new moon. Guest guest
Dear Dawn, There is no doubt that the combined effect of the Moon and the Sun (gravitational pull of the Moon) creates very high and very low tides, changing tremendously the pressure that the ocean exerts over the continental plaques. This is certainly one of the main sources of earthquakes/tsunamis. Besides that combined force of attraction exerted over the Earth, we should not forget also that the Sun is a natural malefic and in 50% of the 12 lagnas, either the Sun or the Moon is also a functional malefic planet, i.e., Leo, Virgo, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces (For example, Portugal is a Sagittarius lagna, Argentina and Iceland are Virgo lagnas, etc.) It would also be interesting to see if in the cases gathered in this list, the Rahu/Ketu axis is involved with the Sun or the Moon as well. What is presented in http://www.informnauka.ru/eng/2001/2001-02-05-0147_e.htm is also very interesting indeed: Russian physicists have found that flashes of neutron radiation from the Earth surface are bound to increasing in seismic activity. They believe that this phenomenon can be used as a novel kind of earthquake foreboding. " The researchers of the Department of Cosmic Radiation of the Research Institute of Nuclear Physics at Moscow State University have noticed that at new moon and full moon periods the intensity of neutron radiation sharply increases in the areas of seismic activity. According to the scientists, the neutron flashes are caused by tidal forces, which, in turn, trigger earthquakes. The scientists believe that the neutron flashes can be used as pre-signs of earthquakes. Day and night alterations of neutron flows were observed in the Pamir mountains, near Gerino, at a height of 1100 m above the sea level. It was found that neutron flashes have a period of 12 hours. This fact confirmed the link between neutron flashes and the passing of maximum tidal waves through the earth crust. At the days of new moon or full moon, when the Sun, the Moon and the Earth are in line, a total gravitational impact on the earth is maximum. Because of tidal forces the earth crust subject to deformation. Through the cracks occurred, atomic and nuclear particles and radioactive gases (containing radon isotopes) are ejected. The decay of isotopes at the surface earth layer and in the air produces a lot of alpha-particles - intermediates between radioactive gases and neutrons. The researchers measured flows of alpha-particles in the Pamir mountains and found alterations in dozens times compared to the average earth level. The amount of neutrons increases respectively. The Moscow researchers studied the catalogue of earthquakes from 1964 to 1992. They found that most severe earthquakes in the region of the Pacific seismic ring also started at the days of new moon or full moon, or a couple of days earlier or later. In these periods flashes of neutron radiation with intensity dozen times higher than background level are observed in the areas of seismic activity, so the scientists suggest using the neutron flows for short-term earthquake forecast. " The results of research allow us to suggest that such phenomena as neutron flashes and the increase in seismic activity are close by nature and are bound to tidal forces " , Nikolaj Volodichev said. " Although the method of short-term prediction of earthquakes by neutron flashes is in the stage of development, we consider it very promising. What is more, it would not require extra expenditures " . Guest guest
Dear Dawn, Thanks for your research. It is interesting to see that just in such a small list with 21 earthquakes, about 25% are near Rahu/Ketu axis. In some of the other dates there may be also contacts between nodes and luminaries. Here is a good field where an extensive research work would give us a better insight on these mechanisms.
