Guest guest
Dear learned men of the Group, To my humble knowledge GURU means the person who removes the ignorance. I had many teachers in my life but very few Gurus. I studied Astrology as a hobby and studied self to satisfy my curiocity. In that process, I came across many learned and expert astologers. But I have came across only one Guru, who never taught me anything, but he he removed my confusion and I still remember coming back like Vivekananda after meeting Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. (This is just a comparison, and please don't read too much into the sentense). The essense of what he told me was that every horoscope is like a previous years balance sheet of a company and a horoscope is the sum of Past life's Karma's, your ancestor's Karmas and your own Karmas with reference to Parasara Hora. I knew the sloka earlier also, but the meaning never entered my mind! For an ignorant man like me, that was enough to clear my confusion. Learned men of this group, please forgive me and tolerate me, if you feel, I have over simplified the Astrology! Later, I wanted to study Astronomy. Here again, I was in search of a teacher and wanted to teach me the calculations to get Current day planetory position from the scratch. Many could not tolerate me because, I didn't want to learn but to understand how to do the calculations and was in hurry and was putting my terms to study. But still, I could meet an unassuming 90 year old Brahmin in a remote Kerala village videly known as an expert farmer among the villagers and to my surprise he was a great cricket fan also. (this was about 20 years back). He told me, that he is too old to do calculations on the calculators but prefered small counch shells to do the calculations because he knew only that! And here again, he didn't taught me anything, but I understood the calculations in one month and allowed me to do the calculations from Kalidinam to Present day Grahasphutam. I never felt inferior in front of him and always felt confident! After, two or three years when I met him he again called me and was eager to share something new he has learned during this time!. He is no more now! I joined the group a few days back and some of the brick bats is scaring me and making me inferior.
