I have a query relating to gifts which we recieve or give. 1. Anil: A person is likely to receive gifts indicated by the stronger of the planets ruling the 2nd, 5th, 9th, and 11th houses - 5th and 9th being awards/ trophies or similar gifts for achievements, and 2nd and 11th being pure gifts received as acquisitions. A person is likely to spend money by gifting things to others as indicated by planets ruling 12th or 6th houses - 12th being pure gifts given out of own volition happily, and 6th being given due to some " consideration " or " pressure " . From a remedial point of view, gifting gems pertaining to debilitated malefic planets to " suitable " persons can reduce the malefic effects of the concerned planet. (gifting auspicious things to deserving persons is called " dhaana " and that is what will really benefit the native; if in doubt, it is best to donate the material to a temple assuming that Divinity is the intended Beneficiary). Those having Jupiter in the 12th house may be naturally inclined to spend a lot on charitable or religious purposes. Venus in the 12th can give spending for luxuries and for social gifts and presentations. Mercury can give spending for diplomatic reasons (gifts with a reason or gifts that are returned for social reasons because the person has gifted to us earlier!), etc. Gifting some items indicated by the planets situated or owning the 12th house is a powerful alibi to avoid loss of that articles. For instance, gifting some article of gold can help prevent loss/ theft of Gold to a person whose horoscope shows such possibilities if Jupiter is in the 12th house. Gifting a small portion of land can benefit those who have Mars in the 12th house. Regarding receiving gifts, it is best NOT TO RECEIVE gifts of iron, sesame seeds, slippers/ shoes and gingelee oil because they can invite bad karma of the donor into your life. Similarly, one should avoid getting gifts of electric/electronic gadgets from one's inlaws (Rahu's significance) as this generally tends to spoil the mutual relationships in the long run. Generally gifting of new clothes, gold pieces, plantains and other fruits, citrus fruits, betel leaves, white flowers with good fragrance like Jasmine, cows to persons who can take proper care of them, and Elephants (to temples) are auspicious gifts for both parties concerned. Exchange of bitter substances, soap-nut powder, chilli or other hot items without accompanying sweet articles can be inauspicious for both parties concerned. I have combined traditional beliefs, and astrological significations as far as possible while giving this list. I hope this helps. Blessed be.
