Dear List:

Panditji often used to stress onething in his lectures......Never

address a vedic astrologer without respectful prefixes.....and lo!

his name has been addressed without respect here! Probably he will

not be commenting on this now, as there is already another

controversy where his name has been dragged! So I thought I will

write on this.

Please dear Member (Shri. Vijaya prasad), you are requesting the

services of those experts and why can't you ask that after

addressing them with respect?

I see people addressing Rafalji also often by his first name as if

he is a pal. My Goodness! He is a Guru with SJC and a qualified

astrologer is in the position of " Guru " . We in vedic forums should

follow the vedic etiquettes. This is for the general information of

everyone - first name culture is not " in " here. In Indian

traditions, we generally do not even address respectful persons by

their names - we call them by other respectful indications like

(Panditji, Guruji, Brahmashri, Yogiji, etc.). Of course, if the

astrologer has explicitly requested to be addressed by first name

due to personal preference, then it is alright; otherwise, by

default - it is better to address senior astrologers respectfully.

Let not the software " informal " culture seep into this vedic

atmosphere. Somehow, I feel so delicate to see Panditji being

addressed like that!

If you don't want to follow vedic traditions, kindly keep clear of

this place.

Best regards,

Abhishek.
