is functionally malefic for my chart. They say that because Venus rules the 11th and 4th houses, which are

supposed to be malefic,thought they're really just more

medium.Before I knew that I moved to

South Florida right on a Venus line after 25 years in New Mexico (Moon

Mercury line), and I have been quite miserable in Miami but have

tried to adjust; just recently moving 20 miles south has helped.

Maybe because I also made the move in Me Rx during Rahu dasha in

2001 circumstances have compromised my peace and a 36-year meditation and

spiritual practice. When I look

at your chart, the thing that stands out the most to me is not a poor

Venus butSaturn and Sun. Being so close together is an

important part of your chart. (same 5th degree,in Cancer.)I still don't quite know what to do about Venus, which rules H 11

and H 4; I guess it is the rulership of H11 that makes Venus

malefic. I knew that H6, 8, and 12 were the worst houses for

planets, but don't know really why H-11 has been so

problematical.It's not really. I

think people make much too much about planets ruling 2nd, 3rd, and 11th as

being malefic. The way to tell however, is to look into the

nature of the specific problems or challenges we're facing and we can hear

the planet that's really involved. If it was Venus, thentypically Venus problems would be predominating. But, from your

descriptions, they soundmore like Saturn.Especially in the light of the fact that Sani's been transiting your

12th house, (Gemini), Cancer,first house and your 2nd house, now

Leo. Moon wasn't in those houses so not sade sat,but Saturn

was moving across many planets in your chart, Sun, Mercury, Venus &

Marsand of course, Saturn return. Anyhow I

feel that it is an afflicted chart on some level and assume I just had a

lot of past life karma that I needed to complete. I do know that it

is a very Saturnian chart despite the lunar influences for Sun and

Ascendant. We hear so much about 'sade

sat' but I think Saturn moving across one's Sun and one'srising sign

are just as important. And, in your case you've been going through

both.I think astrologers can't find much positive to say, perhaps one of the reasons I started to study jyotish, so I

could analyze it myself.I know what you

mean. But, I think most astrologers miss the significance of

malefics anyway.My take on them is they're meant to be healing

periods instead of curses.Saturn periods for example, are not

meant to just be obstructive or negative; they're meant to show us where

we need to be putting our attention. When I went into my Saturn Maha

dasa period in 1991, my whole life changed.Certainly, I

experienced the meanings of loss due to Saturn being in my 12th house, but

afterI learned to understand my Saturn more, I realized I needed to

grow in Saturn wisdom.And, as I've studied Saturn, my Saturn

Maha dasa period has now become the 'best' periodof my life. I feel that the year ahead is very challenging for

me and Cancer lagnas in general and others as well. The eclipses

are on the Cancer-Capricorn axis with the July eclipse 5* Cancer

conjunct my NT Saturn and Sun. Then there will be Mars in Cancer to take

the place of Ketu in Cancer now. I am hoping, as the saying goes,

to " land on my feet. " So,

instead of thinking of this upcoming period as 'negative' in absolute

terms, let's thinkof it as a potentially good period, though

different than you might have thought.So, contemplate now,

what the true spiritual significance of the eclipses are.If

they're going to be going through your first house, than, instead of

feeling frustratedbecause you can't do what you might be

doing;instead surrender and put attention onbeing more present and

silence during especially those days which are at the heightof the

eclipse. So that's my chart.
