Guest guest
I wanted to write a bit about the weather and the moon calendar. Rained heavily in the early morning hours of Wednesday, just in the middle of a week that was to be dry, according to all the forecasts. Dear Zack:Ahhh, a man after my own Moon, transits heart! hehe The greatest thing I've learned about watching the stars each day now for over 22 years is thatpractical experience shows us exactly why things happen! In terms of the weather, I've noticed that whenever so-called malefic planetsinfluence the Moon, 1, but especially 2 or 3 brings tremendous precipitation! So, last Wednesday, when it 'rained' in a lot of places the Moon was in Cancer; but....The cooincidence is that the moon was in a Water Sign Constellation, Cancer. As the moon attracts the tides, the astronomical water sign conjunctions with the moon precipitate special events with rains. the rain came not so much because the Moon was in Cancer, but because ofthe other simultaneous malefic influences. This year Rahu & Ketu are inCapritocorn and Ketu, and those two influences enough seem to bring therain whenever the Moon goes through Cancer.I remember a few years ago when Saturn was going to be going into Cancer.I remember getting a number of emails from Jyotishees in India saying andpredicting Saturn trials and tribulations in 'water' over the next 2 1/2 years.I found that particularly interesting especially since those years of Saturn inCancer were the years that we had all the tsunami's and hurricanes! Then, the year or hurricane season immediately after Saturn left Cancer, andwent into Leo, the number of hurricanes was drastically less!I have noticed this in the six months I have been studying the biodynamic calendar. An intriguing detail about the heavy early morning rains was that the barometer had not changed! After the Leaf days come fruit days, with the moon in Fire Signs. These are often cool and clear, with sharp winds, also noted on flower days. Where do you live? One of the things I want to research next, is watchingthe weather patterns from many places upon the earth at the same time.I do the Transits, for the weather here, but I notice it slightly different depending upon the physical localities around the globe. For example, the year that I was traveling around in 2005-2006 when I wasin the south-western US, in Arizona mostly, the weather would change as always when the Moon got bombarded by malefics;but in Arizona it didn't rain much, so the rains that came were very minisculeor even sometimes just clouding over, whereas in other parts of the US,the rain was much more prolific. The rhythm is water, fire, earth, air, water, fire, earth, air. In Biodynamics this is called Leaf, Fruit, Root, Flower. I think that the moons' draw on plants' sap varies by about a third. The moon calendar determines what time of day the sap is strong in plants, and this has an effect on the reaction of plants to our work. Biodynamics also uses planet positions, a topic I have not explored as yet. Perhaps some moon dynamic effects moisture bouyancy in the air?Well, let's watch these patterns more closely. I've also noticed an extremelyhigh and predictable relationship between Saturn's influence and cold! When Saturn especially aspects the Moon, like now, as the Moon gets closerto Saturn, (both in Leo, now) you'll feel colder weather coming. Then, the moment that the Moon moves to the other side of Saturn, then immediately more warmth comes.Like yesterday, when the Moon was in even just beginning to go into Leo,away predominantly Rahu/Ketu's simultaneous influence, immediatley theweather improved, was sunny, warm and clear yesterday. But, today, as the Moon's now closer to Saturn in Leo, the sky has overcastand the weather is very cold and almost dreary.Right now the Moon's at the 13th degree of Leo while Saturn's at the 26thdegree, also in Leo.Watch how the weather patterns change the closer and closer the Moon getsto Saturn's direct degrees. Then, watch, because immediately upon the Moon passing Saturn, theweather patterns tend to break up! This week, rain is predicted for Saturday, when the moon shifts to the Earth Sign, Virgo, for several root days. I think the characteristic of these rains will be that they are brief showers, not heavy rainstorms. If I notice something remarkable, I will send you another review, if you request it.On Saturday, the Moon will start off at about the 9th degree of Virgo. So,at that moment there is no direct malefic influence. But, the Moon, at the9th degree is still only a few degrees away from Saturn which is at the 26th degree of Leo. Also, Rahu's supposed to influence the 9th house away fromwhere it is, so Rahu's direct influence will be upon the 18th degree of Virgo, too! Please let me know where you are and send me details of your weather, and let's see if we can find the detailed astrological reasons for your's as well!A friend has done a partial study that shows that the Water Signs align with the moon for less than a quarter of the month, but account for about 30% of the rain. In my experience, there are sudden heavy rains in those times. As I said, the more intense malefic influence that goes to the Moon brings more and more intense weather patterns. Thunderstorms, almost always arewhen Mars is powerfully aspecting those same astrological patterns.A more complete study has probably been completed by others in the Biodynamic culture, but I am just starting my records. For those of you in the Northern hemisphere, this period of the moon in Virgo will be the best time to plant garlic. It is a root veg, and also has the sprouting effect of Saturn too. Please let me know if this is of interest and what your experience has been! Thanks Zack, for sharing your experiences as well!Sincerely,ZackSincerely,Mark KincaidPS: Zack, do you know the eastern Jyotish system yet? Also, include your date of birth info. when writing. My DOB info. is:Sept. 4,1951 11:17am Kansas City, Missouri, US Libra Jyotish Rising Sign
