This has to be one of the strangest and most surprising

astrological expressions I’ve ever heard!

I was in in 1987 attending an Ayurvedic course when this rather

famous Indian Yoga teacher said: “Now,

do they know Jyotish? They must know Jyotish,

Ayurveda and Jyotish go hand in hand.”

Thus began my first exposure, really, to the Divine science of

Vedic Astrology. This expression: “You

Will Be Your Own Best Jyotishee” was but just one of a number of

expressions that would end up changing my life.

‘fit us’, this next space of time represents the possibility

specific Houses of our charts. What houses you

have your planets in represents the most important areas of life for your

self!

Where you have your benefices (positive) planets or where you have

your malefics (negative) planets; these are the areas of the life that you

were born to be involved in.

If you have your Sun or Moon in the 2nd House then you

will have natural interest with any of the most important characteristics

of the 2nd house. This may include

strong interest in wealth or money matters or food, speech or certain

aspects of family life.

If you have any planets in the 3rd House you may have

positive or negative karmas with siblings or the other qualities of the

3rd house which represents communications, the arts and

music.

If you have your planets in the 4th House then

relationship with Mother will be a strong part of your path. The fourth house also represents land, property and

real estate so this may be an important part of you as well.

If you have significant planets in the 5th House then

all the areas of the 5th, including, love, romance, education,

children and mantras are your primary focus.

natural interest in life revolves around health, healing, dis-ease and

disease.

tendencies are issues to do with business or marriage partnerships.

Where we have our benefices determines where our greatest talents

and abilities lie. We all want to put our best

‘foot forward’, so where we have our strongest planets

represents those areas of the life that we can be successful in.

Where we have our malefics represent those areas of the life where

we have all our struggles, frustrations and greatest lessons. If we don’t learn to understand and

eventually even, transform, heal or improve our malefics; then we will

likely continue with those same sufferings.

If we don’t learn what the ‘House’ relationships

are in our charts we won’t understand how we fit in this world!

This world is all about the different 12 Houses of Astrology.

If we have more of our planets in the 8th house then the

qualities of chronic health problems, addictions, and on a positive side;

psychic and intuitive areas are important to us.

Planets in the 9th House are completely important

because these represent a deeply spiritual and non-materialistic nature

and relationship in life. This is especially

significant because we live in such a materialistic time, today.

If we have our planets in the 10th House then issues

with career and occupation are important for us to figure out.

If we have planets in the all-important 11th House then

life goals, dreams and aspirations, including how we gain financially are

very important to us.

And, finally, if we have significant planets in the 12th

House we may have an especially renunciate type of nature. Also, issues with finances and especially debt or

balance of expenditures is important for us to figure out from the

12th house.
