One of the most interesting things I've realized is that our individual sense of politics is ruledboth by Mars and are 10th houses. For me, I have Mars in my 10th house and I've always been fascinated by politics!(Sept 4, 1951 Libra rising)But, my Mars was in Cancer when I was born so I really don't think I could handlethe intensity required to really be in politics.Though sometimes..... Then, I look at my chart again and even though my Marswas debilitated in my original birth chart; under the Shad bala system my Marsis supposed to be my strongest planet. Guest guest
Hi, Mark... When I say that I love politics, what I mean is that I get excited around election time, hoping that my favorite candidate will win. I'm not really an activist, though I'm planning to stuff envelopes for my guy of choice tomorrow. I'm like one...in fact, I am one...who gets interested in baseball when the World Series comes along. The thing I objected to in those rants posted by TT was the rabid anti-Semitism (I'm not Jewish, just opposed to any bigotry). About my Mars: it's pathetic...in 2 degrees Libra in the 5th, in a sandhi (midway between 2 house cusps) position. It shares the sign and house with Venus, which is much stronger (right on 5th cusp), but they're not closely conjunct. Other than that it has no aspects to speak of. About your Mars: 10th is a strong placement, even if in Cancer. Mars has Dig Bala (directional strength) in 10th and 10th is an upachaya house, which is good for a malefic planet. I'm not really clear on what an upachaya house is, but it's a "growing" house. Could that mean that the planet improves with time in the house? However, Mars is a maraka for a Libra asc. How close is it to your 10th cusp? What aspects does it have? Also, how have you observed it operating in your life? Well, it seems that everything is a mixed bag in astrology. ....Bettina On Behalf Of markkincaidSent: Tuesday, September 30, 2008 2:41 PM Subject: 2-Bettina and all re. politics and astrology Mark:I love politics too, but this wasn't so much about politics in any normal way; it was mega-bigoted. ....BettinaBettina: Okay, if we're going to talk let's talk about politics and astrology. Guest guest
Oh, Mark, interesting that you said you could handle being in politics with your Mars in Cancer, because both McCain and H.R. Clinton have that configuration! And also Al Gore!
