rhodaDear Rhoda: I'm so happy for you! It's a rare person who learns how to perceive the transits soprecisely. It is easy to do, only one has to pay attention

long enough. For me, I just stumbled into the Transits. I'd

been studying Jyotish for about a year and 1/2 when I read about the

transitsfor the first time.I had a Jyotish program so it

was easy for me to make a chartof each day.The first

month where I made a chart for each day and lookedat them in terms

of myself and everyone else around be blewme away!It was

like astrology came ALIVE in the transits! " Oh, my

God,... " I thought, nature is living the transits. Now,

after 22 years making a chart for each day I'm happy toreport that

each day is an astrological marvel that has so muchto teach us.We each only need to pay attention for 2 or 3 months in a rowand we'll discover many, many things about ourselves that wenever

knew before. For example, for me, I quickly discovered that the

waning Mooncycle was a killer!Every month when the Moon

got smaller and smaller I realizedI felt smaller and smaller. And, when I compared these transits to my natal chart wheremy Moon & Saturn were together in the 12th house, 1 wayaway

from my Sun in the 11th house; I realized, I have a delicate Moon! That blew me away. I think most men like to think of

themselves as rough and tumble types of virile guys! But, to

discover that my Moon feelings were very delicate, fragile and too

vulnerable was very insightful.I thought too, this can't

do!I can't feel miserable every month for 1 to 2 weeks as soon

asthe Moon begins to wane! One of my Jyotish students

said to me years ago when I toldthis story; 'Mark, seems like

you have cosmic pms!'And, that's exactly how it felt.

Fortunately, I'd already spent 17 years meditating even

beforeI got into Jyotish so I'd already seen a tremendous

transformation of my Moon, emotional side of myself.Meditation, by the way, is the #1 remedy for strengthening one's

Moon!Meditation, strengths the mind, unfolds the

consciousness, and develops the mind spontaneously! As a result

of innocently meditating I noticed I did we better!Shades of

my early life, pre-mediating, growing up I was muchmore of an

emotional wreck. I was very shy, felt lonely, isolated and

depressed! All classic Moon & Saturn experiences especially

Moon and Saturn in the 12th!After many years of meditating,

then, I knew that I could improve myself!I knew that

self-improvement was one of the most important aspects of life! However, what I didn't know was whether Jyotish could contribute to our

self-development!Paying more and more attention to the Moon

each day I began to notice that my physiology felt like curling up during

the waning Moon cycle. In fact, the closer I got to the New Moon,

the more inward I felt. Then, it occured to me. 'Mmmmmm,

maybe the waning Moon is a rest cycle!'.....Having studied

meditation for over 17 years I'd heard about rest and activity. We

rest at night and depending upon how well we rest, the whole next day

unfolds! If we don't rest well in the night, then, the next day

can be a disaster!Maybe I'm supposed to be resting more during

the waning Moon cycle?I felt like it. I had much less

energy during that time of the month. I also felt more inward, less

outward and dynamic. So, I tried it. I allowed myself to

go with that inwardness.I allowed myself to rest more during

this time.It was scary at the time, because the feeling was if

I didn't keep working and slaving away; maybe work would disappear! It got to a point after about a year during this where even mywork, (construction business) began to be effected. As I

learned to do less and less around the New Moon I beganto notice

that my friends called me less. Then, I noticed that even

strangers felt inclined NOT to call me. In other words, my phone

stopped ringing. My remodeling customers literally stopped calling

during the last week of the waning cycle!Alarm!Oh,

my, I hope work continues! Then, I noticed, the moment that the Moon

started inching past the Sun, during the shift from the waning to waxing

cycle; immediately my phone would start ringing again! Now,

that was a very powerful experience for me.It helped me

realize that one can rest more deeply in life; especially where its so

necessary and life not only will NOT fall apart, but it will be even

better! Thus, began my first real understanding of

self-improvementdue to utilizing these wonderful transits! Now, I realize the transits are nature's way of showing us exactly

what we're supposed to be doing now!Actually, there are 3

levels of our Jyotish that we're all experiencing at every moment. There are these transits, effects really from the stars; streaming

to us creating our environments and effecting us literally, each and every

day! However, at the same time we're living the influences of

our Dasas. The Dasas represent those karmic patterns that are also

coming to us in time, but intimately related to each person through our

charts. For example, the transits effect us from the

outside. We feel it at work, we feel it in the weather. The Dasas, on the other hand, come to us as if from the inside. The Dasas, represent how we feel at every moment. Ever wonder why

sometimes you start feeling differently?Sometimes we suddenly

want to go traveling.Sometimes we want to change jobs.Sometimes we just want to get out of town!Ever wonder why

these changes happen? Because of the changing shifts of

the Dasas! The Dasas represent the different karmas coming back

to us,directly related to our charts. There are 3 main

Dasas which are related to 3 planets from our chart. Maybe we're in

a Saturn, Jupiter, Venus period. So, we need to look at the Saturn,

Jupiter and Venus planets in our chart to see how benefic or malefic these

planets are.If your Saturn and Jupiter are benefic or positive

then there's a good chance you'll experience a lot of positive results

during these periods. However, if you've got some karma, some

especially negative karma in your Venus, then, don't be surprised if

something slightly less positive comes too!I remember when I

had been studying the transits for about a year and I realized it had made

me much more subtly aware of refined and previously missed cosmic

feelings. Then, as I paid attention to my Dasas I began to

realize that transit's training had awakened in me a greater sensitivity

to the functioning of the Dasas, too. In other words, I realized I

could perceive the shifts in my Dasas just as readily as the shifts in the

Transits. It's such a powerful thing when you get good at both

the Transits and the Dasas! Its such a powerful thing when you

become aware of these two most important aspects of your astrological

nature!I automatically, just felt more aware, more

understanding and comprehension. Then, when difficult things

happened like this last week when the stock market crashed so intensely; I

wasn't surprised! This was because I knew that these events

were caused in part by Saturn fully aspecting the Moon and Saturn and the

Sun being so close together! You can feel the stars! You

can feel them shift and move about. You can learn what this means

for yourself and your family and for our entire world! Thanks

again Rhoda for sharing your experiences too.The next stage,

however, is to learn to master the stars more profoundly! In

other words, if you're a type of person that gets effected very intensely

by say, cloudy or overcast weather; then one instinctively wants to learn

how to get over this! So, if after 2 or 3 months you notice

that you're repeatedly being negatively effected by this or that; then,

you're going to want to master this situation! This then, leads

to the most exciting part of astrology, which is our self-development!When I learned how to rest more deeply during the waning Moon

cycle; I instinctively stumbled upon one of the Moon's most powerful

remedies or remedial measures. In other words, if feelings are

delicate and easily upset, then one of the remedies for the Moon is to

watch the Moon during its cycles and be more in-tune with the Moon each

day! This means when the Moon's found waning, allow yourself

torest more! However, you'll also find that when the Moon is

found waxing this is the time to be more dynamic! You may

remember Madona and her song: " I'm a material girl living in a

material world..... " It's actually much more accurate to

say: " I'm an astrological being, living in an astrological

universe! " Jai GuruMark Kincaid
