Guest guest
I went thru a 18 yr Rahu period and never had any money during it... Dan Dubie HI Dan:It is said that Rahu acts like Saturn. This may be partially why Rahu has the reputationof bringing such things as lack of money or hardships. In truth, however, Rahu acts, like any planet, like it's supposed to according to our charts.I know some who during their Rahu period's experienced great wealth. Then, if money is supposed to diminish during say, someone's Saturn or Rahu period, what are we supposed to do about it?If we know that an economic recession is coming up; recessions, by the way are theinevitable part of a cyclical economic system, then we plan for that predictable future.Life is cyclical. During the Moon cycles we feel more energetic and accomplish more during the waxing's and feel more inward, tired and needing more rest during the waning parts. If we however, plan ahead and understand the purpose of each cycle then we can enjoymaximum progress in spite of what the cycles are.The key is to identify whether a planet is acting as a benefic or a malefic. If a planet is benefic then we plan to take maximum advantage of this time.Jupiter moving into Sagittarius is one such time. For years now I've been looking forward to this time. Like that, we all have some benefic planets in our charts. If we identify them, and which periods are going to be more rosy and successful; then we'll be better off.Of course, it's our malefics that throw us off too often. Where we have our malefics these represent parts of us which are not thinking clearly, out of balance, and producing negative and un-happy results. We all have benefices and malefics and we've come to not only experience the karmic results of our previous actions but now, learn how to transform our malefics into strengths. So, whether we have a so-called negative functioning Rahu, Mars, Saturn or even Venus, we need to understand what the 'lesson' is and be about growing within that lesson during especially the dasa period's of those malefics.Because I knew a little Jyotish, when I went into my Saturn Maha Dasa period in 1991 I knew that this very long period could be just horrible. In fact during the first few years, having Saturn in the 12th, I had indescribable hardships and financial losses.I remember at some point turning to Saturn and saying: " Hey, I thought I was in-tune with you? " If you've ever heard God laugh at you, you'll know what I felt when Saturn started laughing and laughed and laughed, non-stop for over 3 minutes.I was thunderstruck, embarassed and pretty much humiliated. But, at the end I meekly said: " eh, so what can I do? " He said only 2 words: " more silence.... more silence,...more silence.... " And, that my friends was the real beginning of my true understanding of Saturn. I immediately, began taking more rest. I thought I was taking enough, but the very moment that I started being more silent, rested and still; my life immediately became better.I could hardly believe my experience, and noticed whenever I couldn't take good enough care of myself; immediately those negative Saturn consequences started coming back, again. So, we need to figure out what the lesson is of our malefics and then be about balancing, healing, and transforming them. Now, I understand that malefic periods are not curses but instead are opportunities for personal growth. I think of malefic periods as healing periods instead of grief periods.Only we have to understand and learn how to adjust in the way's that our malefics are trying to tell us.Saturn has it's specific and unique meanings while Rahu's are slightly different.Mars, too, has a very unique symbolism, and when one starts to be more angry, irritable, and fiery during Mars' dasas one tends to blame one's circumstances on that change. But, if someone if fortunate to understand their astrology; they can realize that they are in the throes of a Mars malefic ness and instead focus on how to balance Mars!If we had gone to an Ayurvedic doctor they could have told us our 'pitta' was really out of wack, and prescribe pitta pacifying solutions to our troubles. Some day, we'll look to Jyotishees like that. We'll instead go to them, for their pitta, Mars, Rahu or Saturn pacifying solutions, or remedies.Instead the normal, traditional Jyotish solutions are old and tired. Eh, 'feed the birtds on Saturday. (for balancing Saturn, for example), may be one remedy. I actually heard of an astrologer who prescribed this to his client! Needless to say, the person's life and Saturn experiences did not improve! The Vedic tradition is full, however, of some very profound and practical human remedies that are not only time honored but more practical.Meditation now, is extremely easy, effortless and profound to learn and practice.Ayurveda is well known for being very effective for dealing with all kinds of health situations.Even such things as physical yoga postures and pranayama breathing techniques are very helpful for bringing balance and health back to the mind and body.In the future we'll realize that Jyotish is really Vedic Psychology and a Jyotishee is part psychologist and has the ability to help us understand what the lessons of our malefics are all about.Dan, if you'd like to understand your Rahu better please include your date of birth information next time.Sincerely, Mark Kincaid JCharp2796 (AT) aol (DOT) com wrote: North Delicious ideas to please the pickiest eaters.
