I’ve been thinking of a great project we could all do together to

help us understand our Astrology better. You know in many ways

studying Astrology is more complicated then it needs to be. I

remember it took me years to get a handle on my chart. However, once

I started teaching people I realized all the ways in which Astrology could

be learned, more easily.

For example, keep it simple. Astrology is as complicated as

life. But, keep it simple, study one step at a time. I

recommend people generally to first study their Planets, Signs and

Houses.

Once you know what the planets represent, then you can study more easily

what it means to have one’s Sun or Moon in Taurus, for examle.

Each planet has a natural different meaning in the different

Signs.

Then, we can study planets in the different houses. Discovering the

actual area of the life where our planets and karmas are is

exhilarating! Once you’ve made head way towards discovering

the Astrological reasons why you’re the way you are then we’ll

move toward labeling which planets of ours are positive (Benefic) and

which one’s negative producing (or Malefic.)

First Research Subject

So, if we’re going to pick one person’s chart to analyze each

week I thought it would only be fair to pick mine, first. I’ll

be this week’s guinea pig though it’s quite wonderful to

discover all the reasons why we’re the way we are. Like most

people I had more malefics in my chart then benefices. In fact 7 out

of the main 9 planets were malefic on the day of my birth!

As a result I experienced all of the sad and unhappy consequences of those

7 principle malefics, though, at the time I knew nothing about Astrology,

East or West. So, let’s first start with making a list of who

we were before we knew Astrology. This may serve as a nice template

from which to then find the Astrological reasons why we’re the way

we are!

Of course, discovering the Astrological reason is only important if only

we discover the things we can do to change and improve our lives.

That’s why after we complete our analyses we’ll go into the

various Jyotish remedies we can

do!

Personality List

So, make a list of who you are or what you were like at birth. These

descriptions especially when linked to your Astrological reasons will help

you learn how to improve your life through Jyotish.

 

1) I was very shy

when I was young.

2) I was shy and

self-conscious.

3) I could hardly

speak in especially public situations and felt even shy with one

person.

4) I was however

also fairly philosophical. So, I enjoyed talking first to my Mother

in my earliest years and then with church members, priest and decons all

about God, religion and spirituality. Though at the time I

didn’t even know that word: “spirituality”.

5) I liked being

independent.

6) Had my own

little lawn mowing business for many years in high school.

7) I was the oldest

of 6 kids.

8) I loved being

the oldest and wanted to be treated with respect and honor.

9) However, I ended

up mostly being a kind of little dictator to my younger brothers and

sisters.

10) They, however, would get

back of me by teasing me. I had a delicate feeling level and the

only way they could get back at me was by teasing.

11) I loved being free. I

hated restrictions.

12) I had great faith in God,

though at the same very time I liked to call myself a ‘doubting

Thomas’ who was one of Christ’s disciples.

When I started studying my Astrology I found these reasons for each of the

qualities of my life.

The Astrological

Reasons!

 

#1

Shyness:

 

Emotional issues most often are associated with our Moons!

#2 Shy &

Self-conscious?

Same thing can be due to small Moon or negative aspects of any malefics

upon our Moons.

#3 Difficulty with public

speaking.

Should look at the 2nd house of speaking here.

#4

Philosophical:

 

For philosophical nature we look primarily to Jupiter or planets in

Jupiter’s signs; Sagittarius or Pisces.

#5

Independence:

 

For independence we look to strong Sun’s or Leo qualities.

Sometimes Aries individuals are very independent oriented.

#6 Own small business

when young:

 

Being self-employed is also due to strong Sun, Leo or Aries

tendencies.

#7 Oldest of 6

kids:

 

For the oldest we look to the 11th house. For younger

brothers and sisters we look to the 3rd house.

 

#8 Loved being the

oldest.

Again, we look to the 11th House.

#9 Little

Dictator:

 

For being dictator we look to Sun, Leo, Ariesish ness, or Mars

tendencies

Teased-Criticized

 

There are two flavors here. Being teased can be due to emotional or

Moon issues, especially aggravated or small Moons. Karma of being teased

and criticized is definitely a Virgo karma. .

#11 Loved Freedom:

Freedom is definitely a Piscean characteristic.

#12 Great

Faith:

 

Faith is due quite often to Jupiter qualities in our charts..

 

Then, once you’ve identified the various meanings of the parts of

your personality list then look back and see if you can find any of the

Astrological reasons for yourself!

The Astrological

Reasons:

Why!

#1

Shyness:

 

Well, first thing that comes out for me is small Moon in the

12th House. Not only that, but Moon’s with negative

or malefic functioning Saturn which is also in the 12th

house.

#2 Shy &

Self-conscious?

Self-conscious probably also due to small and difficultly placed

Moon.

#3 Difficulty with public

speaking.

Well, since speaking is looked at by the 2nd house I look

there. And, no planets in the 2nd, but 2nd

house lord Mars was weak in Cancer in my 10thndth

house. house and negative functioning Saturn was fully aspecting the

2 house from the 12

#4

Philosophical:

 

Philosophical, I see this from my Jupiter in Pisces. Jupiter in

Pisces can reflect a strong inquisitive and philosophical nature.

Also, Jupiter aspecting the Moon can reflect this tendency.

#5

Independence:

 

Any planets in Leo can give a strong independent nature. 4 planets

in Leo can definitely do this too!

#6 Own small business

when young:

 

This too is probably due to Leo planets. The strongest, Sun in Leo

definitely gives Own business drive.

#7 Oldest of 6

kids:

 

For the oldest we look to the 11th house. For younger

brothers and sisters we look to the 3rd house. In my

chart, there are those 4 planets in Leo in the 11th. I

always assumed there was NO Room…for anyone else there! Hehe.

For younger we look to the 3rd and for me I had Sagittarius

there and NO planets in that house. But, the lord of the

3rd was in Own sign in Pisces in my chart. I always

thought that was one reason why I had karma of younger siblings and no

older.

#8 Loved being the

oldest.

I always thought this love of being the oldest might be my Sun in

Leo. I love being the boss, being a king, being the oldest…he

he.

#9 Little

Dictator:

I think was due to all those other planets in Leo. Jyotish says one,

the Sun in happy there, but others symbolic of self-centered ness, and

selfish ness, etc.

#10 Teased,

Criticized:

 

I think how others could end up teasing me was due to my smallish Moon in

my chart. Also, who teased me, my younger brothers and sisters may

be that Moon/Pisces fully aspecting my Moon in the 12th.

Also, the karma of being teased and especially criticized can be related

to my 2 planets in Virgo, Moon and Pisces.

#11 Loved

Freedom:

 

I think this is due to my Jupiter in Pisces. Pisces loves freedom

and Sun in Leo likes being free too.

#12 Great

Faith:

 

I think this is due to my Jupiter in Pisces too. Jupiter’s in

Pisces and fully aspecting my Moon and Saturn, both of which were in my

12th House. The 12th

House is also the house of the transcendental God.

 

With each stitch of Jyotish ‘aha’ that I gained, more and more

clarity came to me. Now, I realize it’s extremely important

that we find the Astrological reasons why we’re the way we

are.

Even if there were no concrete remedies or things we could do about our

Malefics; even just knowing the reasons why, gives us more peace of

mind!
