Remedies

For

the

Moon

Introduction

toE-remedy…

Dear Friends &

Subscribers:

I have to say I’m most excited about sharing my insights and

suggestions for improving ‘the Moon’ with you because this has

been my own planet that I’ve grown so well with over the entirety of

my life.

When I was born I was born with a very important 10th

House Lord, Moon in my 12th House.

I felt lost and I didn’t know why.

Career seemed beyond me and I felt shy, withdrawn, worried and even

depressive.

In addition to my Moon in the 12th my Moon was also only

1 House away from my Sun which was in the 11th House. And, also it was with a deeply functioning Malefic

Saturn which was also in the 12th House.

Most Astrologers or Jyotishees would say my life would be wasted,

full of grief and much, much unhappiness. In

fact one of my first Jyotish readings in 1988 said this: “I’m sorry but you’ll never have

this and you’ll never have that.”

I tried to explain to him that my life had been like that but, that

ever since I’d learned Vedic meditation my life and planets had been

improving. I was still so inspired by his

insight into my nature and tendencies that I started my study of Jyotish

shortly after that.

My training and up-bringing in the field of Vedic meditation, yoga,

and Ayurveda also taught me some very unique lessons which I then applied

to my study of Jyotish.

I learned also that there was still some growth I could experience

in terms of my Moon. It’s the

development of the Moon that’s at the heart of many people’s

needs in their charts.

If you have any of these negative or so-called functionally Malefic

signs with your Moon, then you too may want to put attention on

Strengthening or developing your Moon.

The Negative or

Malefic

Signs of the

Moon

o

Shyness

o

Fragile emotional nature

o

Worry

o

Anxieties

o

Fear

o

Phobias

o

Emotional instability

o

Depression

o

Dis-ease

o

Disease

o

Lack of Happiness or Bliss

Jyotish says that the Moon is one of the most important planets in

our charts because it represents the major ‘attention’ and

focus of our lives. So, if the Moon’s in

the 2nd House of Food and Wealth then acquiring money or

running a restaurant may be in our future.

If our Moon is in the 3rd House then we may be a person

interested in the 3rd House communication fields or something

to do with art, music or performing. If our

Moon is in the 4th House then we may have a deep life interest

in home, property, fixed assets or Psychology and certainly peace of mind

and relationship with Mother.

For each House that the Moon is in there are the natural interests

and characteristics of that house in the very nature of our

Moon-minds. If Moon is in the 5th

House we may have a fundamental interest in children, education or child

education. If our Moons are in the

6th House then health, and disease may be our deepest

interest. We may even be a healer, doctor or

person interested in the health field.

Moons in the 7th House have an abiding interest in

everything to do with partnerships and marriage.

Depending upon where the Cancer is in our charts; the Home of the

Moon, the symbolism of that Houses moves to the house where our

Moon’s are in. So if our Moons in the

7th House and its the ruler of the 10th House of work and career, then our

Moon’s may mean something to do with working with our romantic or

marriage partner.

If our Moon is in the 8th House then we may have a need

to develop the psychic or intuitive part of us and our Moon. Eight House of course having a lot to do with

psychic abilities and intuition. If the Moon

is in the 9th House our primary interest in life may be

involved in the field of spirituality, religion or God.

If the Moon is in the 10th House then one has a natural

affinity with career and the public and maybe even politics as all these

are the natural characteristics of the 10th House. If the Moon’s in the 11th House

then we probably will have a powerful interest and propensity to

fulfilling our desires, goals and dreams in life as these are the

distinguishing qualities of the 11th House.

And, finally if our Moons are in the 12th House we then

on the positive side will have a strong life interest in 12th

House endings, finality and fulfillment in life.

The 12th House represents the end of life and even such

things as Enlightenment as well as losses, debt and

expenditures.

The most common Astrological configurations associated with a weak

or undeveloped, and negative functioning Moon are:

1) A Small

Moon: If the Moon is Waning

and between ½ Full and a New Moon or Waxing but only 1 or 2 Houses

away from the Sun.

2) If the

Moon is both of a smallish nature and in any of the weaker

or so-called negative Houses;

6th, 8th and 12th then

quite often the Moon may need to be improved.

3) Finally,

if the Moon is aspected by any of the natural Malefics in

Astrology; mainly Saturn, Rahu/Ketu, Mars or the Sun, then the Moon may be

negatively influenced by that planet as well.

And though the solution may be to try and strengthen the other

negative functioning planet as well, improving the Moon is always a great

benefit as well.

4) Finally,

the Moon’s sign that we have is an important feature

of our self-Moon development. So, we’ll

need to figure out in addition to the size whether the nature of the Moon

itself is part of our malefic functioning Moon’s.

For example Moon in Scorpio is the primary Sign that is the

‘sign’ of a negative or especially un-happy Moon.

Other examples of negative or out of balance Moon

‘Signs’ include:

o

Moon in Aries.

Sometimes the Moon in Aries leads one to be too fast, aggressive or

angry and irritable. Moon in Aries itself can

be a positive Moon but if any of the negatives of Moon/Aries are present

this is a sign that the nature or quality of our Moon is important to

improve.

o

Moon in Taurus:

Moon in Taurus is described as a perfect or Exalted quality of

Moon-mind. Moon is in its best place in the

Sign of Taurus.

o

Moon in Gemini:

If the Moon is in Gemini one has a Gemini nature on an emotional

Moon level. Typical advantages of this include

being able to juggle 2, 3 or ever 4 things at a time.

Gemini typically has the ability to organize and manage many things

at once.

Therefore quite often this can be a positive quality of the Moon in

Gemini. However, if one’s Moon is out of

tune with Gemini the obvious sign of that is imbalance and grief from

trying to do too many things at a time.

o

Moon in Cancer:

Moon in Cancer is the other most positive sign of the Moon after

the Moon in Taurus. Moon in Cancer individuals

have a giving, compassionate even Motherly nature.

However, if there is any imbalance of Cancer one can find one self

giving too much or not giving enough to oneself if the Moon is small or

afflicted negatively even if the Moon’s in Cancer.

o

Moon in Leo:

Moon in Leo is not one of the most positive signs for the

Moon. Typical negative consequences of the

Moon/Leo will be bossy ness, self-centeredness and ego challenges or

problems. However, the positive side of

Moon/Leo can be a leadership, or enterprising nature.

o

Moon in Virgo:

Like the Moon/Leo, the Moon in Virgo has some definite

disadvantages as well. Virgo seeks what is

ideal or perfect. And, when the Moon is in

Virgo quite often the person is too much of a perfectionist or

self-critical or critical of others.

o

Moon in Libra:

The Moon in Libra is one of the most positive places for the

Moon. Generally the person is very interested

in seeking Libra harmony and this placement makes a person a good

negotiator, counselor or even teacher.

o

Moon in Scorpio:

The Moon in Scorpio is the most difficult Moon sign for people to

have. The most common signs of negative

Moon/Scorpio energy include a resentful or angry nature. Scorpio often time feels things very deeply and

when the Moon’s in Scorpio or there are other negative Scorpio

planets then one can be judgmental towards others.

o

Moon in Sagittraius:

The Moon in Sagittarius generally is one of the happier places for

the Moon. I’ve never found any negative

quality or descriptions due to the Moon in Sagittarius. The typically happy and positive signs of Moon in

Sagittarius are a love for knowledge, learning and traveling in the mind

or World.

o

Moon in Capricorn:

The Moon in Capricorn generally is a good place for the Moon. However, the signs of imbalance of the

Moon/Capricorn energy include the drive for too much Capricorn ambition,

ambitiousness or fame. Otherwise, the positive

sign of Moon/Capricorn is a positive ambitious or achievement oriented

nature.

o

Moon in Aquarius:

The Moon in Aquarius generally is pretty positive. Moon in Aquarius people are creative and

unconventional even non-traditional. The only

negative I can imagine associated with the Moon/Aquarius would be if the

person felt like they had to push onto others their unusual and creative

Moon/Aquarius perspective. Otherwise, the

Moon/Aquarius nature has a good ability to see the creative, and

‘out of the box’ solutions and is one of the unique energies

of inventors and creative thinkers.

o

Moon in Pisces:

The Moon in Pisces is another one of the more positive placements

of the Moon. In its positive mode the person

with the Moon in Pisces enjoys freedom and thinks in terms of fulfillment,

endings, completions and even such things as Enlightenment. Sometimes the Moon in Pisces is very indicative of

artistic people, especially music writers and poets.

Now, find yourself with your Moon. If

any of the negatives of the Moon are there either because of a small ness

of Moon or malefic aspect or even any negative qualities of the Moon sign;

then your Moon is likely to benefit from putting attention on

Strengthening or Developing Your Moon.

The Moon is the mind, heart, emotions, emotional nature or

intuition. The Moon has the most amazing

potential. If you’d like to develop the

potential of your Moon as well these are some of the descriptions of an

evolving or developing Moon.

The Full Development of the

Moon

Moon represents the mind and the full potential of the Moon

represents the full Development of one’s consciousness or

Mind.

In Vedic Knowledge there are many wonderful descriptions and

stories of what an evolving or Enlightened individual Mind or Moon will be

like. When one practices any number of special

Vedic techniques of consciousness expansion like meditation one can

develop one’s Mind-Moon.

These are some of the personal experiences that come to the

Moon-mind when one practices meditation. Also,

we’ll also describe what it’s like for the Moon-mind to arrive

in the state of expanding consciousness or even Higher States of

Consciousness due to such things as meditation.

Meditation

Meditation is one of the most

powerful techniques to improve the mind. Next

we’ll list some of the experiences and qualities of the Moon when

meditation is practiced.

Positive

Moon-Meditation

Experiences

Meditation is primarily a mental

technique and is practiced either on the level of Mercury or the Moon or

both. For example, contemplation is a Mercury

practice. It’s practiced primarily on

the level of the Mercury intellect and involves what is called the

associate level of meaning.

However, there’s another kind of mental, meditation thinking

which is called transcendental meditation.

Transcending types of meditation involves taking the mind from the

more surface level of the Mercury mind to deeper and deeper levels of the

Moon mind.

If the Moon represents the emotional mind and even intuition then

those activities which are practiced in the Moon-mind will have the affect

of enlivening and unfolding the very nature of the

Moon.

These experiences include:

o

Mental and Emotional

Expansion

When one meditates one learns to turn one’s attention in an

inner direction. We move away from thinking on

the level of associative thinking and we sink deeper and deeper into a

level of mental quietness and expansion.

As the mind turns inward it moves towards deeper and deeper levels

of the mind, closer and closer to what is called the source of

thought.

Pure

Consciousness

Vedic Knowledge teaches that within everyone’s experience and

mind is a Full Potential of mind which is literally infinite. For example this source of thought has been

described as a field of all possibilities.

There is a state which modern day Physics calls the Unified Field

which is the true source of the entire universe.

All galaxies, Cosmic reality even atoms come in and out of that

field of pure energy which is located beyond the sub-atomic level. Some, modern day scientists are beginning to

speculate that the lofty descriptions of the infinite potential of the

Vedic mind are in fact the mind of any individual who learns to enliven

their sub-atomic mental Unified Field within.

The Unified Field exists underneath every aspect of life and nature

so it makes sense that it could be developed or experienced on a personal,

individual level. Perhaps this is where the

historical descriptions of Enlightenment come from in the Vedic

literature.

Experiences of the Source of

Thought

Pure

Consciousness

As one begins to meditate one can easily and naturally have the

direct experience of this Full Potential of one’s consciousness or

Mind. Each meditation that allows us to

tap some more of that inner potential will have a direct influence on our

individual Mind or Moon.

If the Moon is the emotional or non-linear mind and feelings then

as the mind expands during meditation this can have the most positive

results for everyone’s Moon. These below

descriptions are some of the results of the experiences due to such things

as meditation.

o

Greater Calmness

o

Greater peacefulness

o

More stillness of mind

o

Greater Intuition

o

More Clarity of mind

o

Greater ability to focus

o

Relief of mental stress, worry, anxiety

etc.

o

Greater Experiences of Inner Joy, happiness and

Bliss

Vision of the Full Potential of the

Moon-Mind

In addition to understanding how the Moon-mind can be enlivened to

improve the Moon-mind it’s also helpful to reflect on what a fully

developed Moon-mind will be like.

When the full potential of the Moon-mind has been enlivened due to

meditation the following will be some of the amazing benefits to come to

us on a level of our emotional nature or

Moon-mind.

o

Complete Calmness of the

Moon-mind

When the full development of the mind or Moon has been developed

then the ‘transcendental’ level of pure consciousness is found

being lived 24 hours a day through all the normal 3 states of

Consciousness. Normally we go through Waking,

Dreaming or Sleeping.

But, there’s no hint of an inner level of bliss or

calmness. In fact after awaking from sleep as

we go into activity the silence of the night dissipates as our day

unfolds. As a result in the evening again we

have to rest to re-enliven our mental and emotional health and

sanity.

When the practice of meditation progresses a time will come where

the full potential of the inner or transcendental realm gets enlivened and

developed for practical use in our every day life.

As a result of this experience we have the full benefit of the

ever-still, creative and expanded pure consciousness state to be lived and

enjoyed along with our Waking, Dreaming and Deep sleep

states.

o

Powerful Psychic or Intuitive

Abilities

When the full potential of the mind-Moon has been developed an

unbelievable level of intuition and spontaneous knowingness will be found.

Practical experience shows that regular experience of meditation moves one

towards ever increasing frequency of intuition and even psychic

abilities.

o

Expanded Creative Nature

Creativity and inventiveness comes from an expanded and silent

inner nature. When the mind itself gets

enlivened due to the expansion of consciousness one of the many mental and

Moon abilities that develops includes a more expanded and creative person.

o

Peacefulness

When the 24 hour, full-potential of the mind gets developed then

all the negatives of the Moon-mind will disappear.

As the full potential of mental health gets developed then all the

expressions of the lack of full Moon-mind; namely anxieties, fear,

phobias, worry and apprehension will be gone.

o

Physical Health

As mental health improves this will have the most positive affect

on physical health as well. Modern day doctors

and health educators know that most dis-eases and diseases are literally

caused or greatly complicated by mental and emotional stress. In fact it’s often believed described that

70% of all diseases are due to lack of mental peace or

stress.

o

Relationships Will Improve

There’s a common expression in Relationship philosophy that

goes like this: “Giving is the basis of

receiving.” In other words how much we

receive depends upon how much we have given.

Those who are the most successful in their inter-personal relations

are those who have the most strong or Benefic Moons or Venus’ in

their charts.

When the unused, latent potential of the mind gets created it

enlivens in us an ever present ability to give.

As it turns out, not only is giving the basis of receiving. But, giving is determined by ‘having

ness’. In other words the ability to

give is dependent upon how strong and well developed we are! Each step that we take towards more and more

development of mind, consciousness and our Moons, the more we gain the

ability to give!

In the e-remedy of the Moon which will come next we’ll

describe in more detail all the benefits that come from developing the

Moon-mind. In addition to the practice of the

holistic development of the Moon-mind there are a number of other

Prescriptions and Remedies or Remedial Measures that we can learn and

practice which will help us develop and strengthen our

Moon-minds.

These main

remedies include:

#1 Becoming More

In-tune with the Moon’s Cycles

The Moon itself is an Astrological reality that we can study and

become more in-tune with. There is a Waxing

cycle and there is a Waning cycle. Generally,

most people do not pay attention to the important knowledge and wisdom of

being more in-tune with these two basic cycles. In the e-remedy article we’ll discuss all the

ways in which we can become more in-tune with the every day Moon cycles.

#2 The Moon in our

charts; in size and in Sign quality reflect

what we need to be doing personally to literally enliven or develop our

Moons.

There are two ways of developing the Moon.

Through meditation and other consciousness techniques the holistic

nature of the Moon can be enlivened.

However, the Moon can also be enlivened specifically on the level

of our individual Moons by attention and focus to the specific Moon

situations in our charts. In the e-remedy

article we’ll discuss each negative scenario of the Moon and what

the intrinsic lessons are of each.

So, whether you have a small, or Waning Moon or difficulties with

your Moon’s sign, or negative planets aspecting or affecting our

Moon; all these scenarios will be discussed.

In addition practical and experienced remedies, remedial measures

and prescriptions will be given to address every malefic situation of the

Moon.

So, pay attention to your emotions, emotional nature and how you

feel to determine whether your Moon needs improvement. If you’re experiencing any of the negatives

of the Moon, or any of the lack of full potential of the Moon then

there’s a good chance that you can benefit from developing or

strengthening your Moon.

Sincerely,
