Finding Prosperity & Making Money Through Jyotish-Astrology My Guru used to say: “To fulfill any desires, you don’t focus on the compensation, only the service.” I’ve always loved this quote. “Because in focusing on the service, giving is maximum. If you divide the mind thinking or worrying about the return then action is less then 100% and the return will be affected.” Dear Friends: I went to bed early last night and had these thoughts which I wanted to share with you regarding ‘our’ Jyotish. If you were to go to an Ayurvedic doctor and he told you, you have a Pitta disease or imbalance there would not be the connotation that this is fated! Instead he’d put you on a Pitta pacifying diet. He’d recommend certain Vedic

prescriptions to bring your whole Physiology is balance so that your Pitta dis-ease would be gone! The absence of your health problem will be an indication of your inner balance! Why don’t Jyotishees think this way? Because, Jyotish has fallen under the sway of fatalism. Sure, pre-determined qualities do exist. If we planet an apple seed it’s destined that we’re going to get an apple tree! The universe is orderly. However, we do have the freedom to create a new seed. Maybe a new and improved apple variety. Perhaps, a completely new

hybrid; maybe an apple/guava tree! In other words we do have free will. Free will & determinism both go together. How much free will depends upon how much freedom of consciousness is present. Consciousness is mirrored in the Astrological nature by our Benefices. Where we have our Benefices we’re performing good and positive actions and the results will be positive and life supportive. However, where we have our Malefics we’re

already making mistakes; going too fast or not getting enough rest. As a result future consequences will be negative and NOT what we thought they would! No one starts out an action to have an accident. Accidents happen in spite of our best intentions. So, why do we go too fast, get preoccupied with something else rather then our driving? Because of some Malefic influence, within. We learn to change

and transform our Malefic functioning planets into strengths and the complete negative association and reality will go away! We only have to change or strengthen our weakened or undeveloped Malefic planets. Malefic Planets What Malefic planets really represent is some part of our human Psychology or Physiology that’s not living up to its full potential. Wherever we have a Benefic Planet, that planet is strong, healthy and living up to its full potential. The Own Sign or

Exalted status of any planet represents the more highly evolved or highly developed planet or aspect of our human nature. Where we have our Benefices we’re thinking and acting in life and the results are positive and life evolving. Where we have our Malefic planets we’re acting from a lower level of precision and as a result our actions are less positive. If Mars is functioning in any Malefic way we’re apt to have accidents, fights, disagreements, anger, resentment or criminal behaviors.

The very moment we come to purify, to strengthen or correct our Mars thinking, behavior or actions the negative consequences of that maleficness will go away! When the negative signs of Maleficness go away this represents where we’ve created more balance with our Mars! It’s like we’ve learned to balance our Pitta or Vatta or Kapha nature and as a result health comes! True Nature Of Jyotish-Astrology The true nature and purpose of Astrology is the unfoldment of our potential. “The purpose of life is to grow” is a wonderful Vedic expression. The purpose of life is not to suffer, to live the negative consequences, or fatalistic realities of our previous actions. Once we realize we’re meant to learn how to change our Stars life can become especially sweet, happy and successful. In the “Stars Within” this new vision and reality of Astrology is described. The notion of Astrological Remedies and Remedial Measures has been in the field of Jyotish, forever. However, it’s become greatly mis-understood and neglected.

I remember when I first started studying Jyotish. Most books made no reference to what we could do about our Malefic planets or forces. Only fate was the idea. Of the books that talked about it, most had less then 5% of their time focused on any ways in which to remedy the Malefic planets. Also, when you pay attention to the power and profundity of these remedies they are found to be inefficient and unproductive. Ever hear of the Jyotish remedy for Saturn? “Feed the birds on Saturday!” I mean I get the reasoning here. Do some nice service; give on the day

of Saturn. However, this remedy is only a very weak and superficial Vedic remedy. Instead learn to meditate. In meditation teach the mind and body how to go within. Develop one’s inner potential of consciousness. As the mind becomes enlivened on an inner level, deeper levels of the silent nature of the mind are unfolded. With each step towards more unfoldment of the full potential of the mind or one’s consciousness silence of

mind is naturally developed. With each step towards a more calm, balanced and silent mind Saturn is appeased and strengthened! When Saturn gets enlivened or strengthened then all the negative associations of Saturn are found gone! Vedic Remedies & Remedial Measures All the Vedic remedies and remedial measures including Jyotish bring the light of our latent, unused, undeveloped full potential. make a long story, short; 6 weeks later she came back to me and said: “Mark, you won’t believe it! My daughter is doing so much better!” “What did you do?” “I did what you said. I tried to tell her that she could get what she wants. Only she needed to learn to do something to earn it. So, we set her up with chores and special charts on the kitchen wall so that she could see her progress and wow, she’s completely changed!” This is only one of the many benefits that can come from good Jyotish Parenting!
