Guest guest
Hello Mark, Just wanted to comment on a few things from this one. Well, I must say, part two(Saturn is Winter Part 2)definitely shed a little light on some things.... Hi Amy: Glad to hear it. It's my experience as well. Each 'day' that I understand Saturn or any of the planets better, is a better day! snip<we’re apt to be prone to experiencing some of Saturn’s lessons> Yes, these I have been learning, and hopefully, we are starting to get a long just a little better, now that we are slowly reaching an understanding. As you may be realizing by now, Saturn in many situations is people's most difficult planet. There are a number of reasons for this. Partly it's the age we live in. We definitely don't live in an age or time where people teach us about how to get along better with the Saturn aspect of life. As a result, Saturn continues being more negative then it has to. A number of years ago, a book came out that definitely changed by habit of understanding Saturn. It was called " Saturn: Friend of Foe " and this was the first time that I began to think of Saturn differently. Since then, I've realized that Saturn, like any planet is as positive or negative as we've learned it. And, the times when we experience the negative sides of Saturn or any planet are just Nature's way of showing how in-tune we are with that planet. So, you learning to understand and cooperate better with Saturn! is one of the most significant things anyone can do in life! Be patient with yourself though. And, even though money and job problems make us crazy and make us nervous; still, Saturn represents how we need to be more patient in life. Was thinking of you this morning and thought in might be helpful to talk about one of the most difficult situations regarding Saturn. You're, by the way going through one of Saturn's hardest scenarios. When someone can't find work, and suffers financial worries one's tendency is to work harder. And though this may work sometimes, in most Saturn situations this only makes it worse! So, if what we're going through is caused or even complicated by an out of balance Saturn; then the way is not through doing more, but by doing less. And, yet, we don't feel we have the time or money to be patient. But, that may be the only, real solution. It's like a person who's facing demands and health challenges, and the tendency is to try and work harder. But, if ill-health is our Saturn challenge, then rest and recuperation is the solution. Especially if people don't have the money or savings to rest, this may still be what they should be doing. So, here gets to my point. If we need to illicit a Saturn solution, and yet we don't have the financial situation, (savings) to be patient; this is the real problem. Like that, if we're unemployed and need to be resting or healing, we still may not feel like doing the right thing because we don't have the resources to do it! So, what do we do? Why is this even happening? This is one of the reasons why people tend to think of Saturn as a negative or evil planet! Seems hopeless. One of my Saturn ahas, however, is even recessions, lossing one's job, being broke, all these challenges are part of the need to grow in the inherent 'appreciation' of Saturn. One of the real benefits of going through such grevious times, is it teaches us the importance of being better prepared. As it turns out there will always be down times. There will always be times where recessions come and go. It's the nature of life to have periods of up, or expansion, and then, periods of down. So, the solution is not to expect otherwise, but be better prepared so that next time, we don't suffer so severely, during the next Saturn moment! snip<all kinds of weird and undesirable intellectual and communicative glitches happen during Mercury’s retrograde> this one, I can definitely just about always sense, without even looking to see if Mercury is retrograde. You make a great point here, that we can get used to feeling the Planets. And, once you get good at feeling them, you'll be more prone to understanding them, and adjusting better to their inherent meanings for us. snip<having spent the last 2 ½ years or so in Cancer> Hmmm... now that is interesting. Let's see, about 2 1/2 years ago is when my little brother almost died, and at the same time I was starting building my house, which I moved into that fall. Yes, my little brother is doing fantastic now, but he did have complications and had to have a second heart surgery. But it does seem that every since I moved into my house, things have progressed down-hill... many clashes with the boss during that time (who built my house), financial end was great then, though, boss started wanting me to do some bookkeeping directly against the rules which lead me to leave my job this past spring as a means of self-preservation; I haven't worked all these years and furthered my education in accounting to lose it all because of an unscrupulous employer. Then the car accident, lots of family turmoil between my mother and her sisters. However, since then I haven't been able to find a job since then, and now the financial end is definitely suffering (and that's just some of the " flavorings " of the past 2 1/2 years!). And for some reason, I'm the one my parents are leaning on for support and to be their rock! Yes, all manner of grief can come to us during Saturn times! Unfortunately, people tend to take these as indicative of something fated. Saturn periods are meant to be adjusted to. So, if we're experiencing some Saturn health complaints coming at a specific time; these are not just about our negative, malefic, or bad karma. No, these are meant to be adjusted to. Disease or dis-ease are both Saturn signs of imbalance. In the same way that accidents are the sign of Mars imbalance; grief, and losses, or ill-health or some of the signs of Saturn imbalance. Next time, or even now, as you experience 'any' Saturn symptoms; #1 Acknowledge 'ahhhh', this may be a Saturn moment. And #2 Adjust differently. So, like when we're having minor accidents; stubing or toe, banking our elbow, or slipping and slidding, we should take these as Mars signs, and adjust appropriately. When we experience negative Mars experiences; what we should be doing is adjusting our Mars intensity or speed. In terms of accidents it's pretty easy. We just go slower. In the case of Saturn it's slightly more involved. So, we experience imbalance, feeling distressed, or delays; we do the same thing. In this case, we #1 Identify Saturn as the likely planet involved. And #2 we assume a typical Saturn solution! For Saturn we also may need to slow down. For Saturn we may need to get more rest. For Saturn we may need to meditate more, because meditation enlivens the inner quality of dynamic silence, which can be lived along with activity. And this takes some time. Saturn silence and the accompanying Integration that needs to go with it, is one of Saturn's greatest benefits. First, however, we have to hear of a different way. Then, we need to experience that life goes better with more inner quietness. snip<get ready for another Saturn in Cancer moment> Great, I feel so much better now, especially after looking back over the past 2 1/2 years... The duration of Saturn ness, should not freak us out. If the weather man says it's going to be raining for 3 days we know there will be an end. Like that, we don't have to freak out if the duration is longer. What we need to realize is that Saturn moments are the greatest opportunities for wildly important Saturn growth. If we don't accept the fact that vibrations of Saturn may be going on for a particular time, then we may make things even worse. We don't however have the right perspective, because we keep thinking we've got to be doing this or that. The real things we're supposed to be doing are healing and growing within Saturn, during such periods. It's really a great kindness to know they may be of a certain duration. Imagine how I freaked out after I started my 18 year Saturn period in 1991. I had just entered my Saturn Maha dasa period. With Saturn in my 12th House I thought I was ready for some Saturn bumps. But, nothing I'd studied had prepared me for the all pervasive Saturn grief that I was about to be going through. Immediately, I couldn't find any work. I'd just started a new marriage, and we had NO money. We finally found some work, (in my field), though it was in another state. We had to borrow the money just to get there. Over the next 2 years, we continued suffering, bills were high, and finally after about 5 years my wife and I split up, got divorced, went bankrupt, and my dad dies; all within the first 5 years of Saturn Mahadasa. I was freaking out. Now, I realize because I thought this might be going on for another 13 years! But, I'd been studying Jyotish for a few years now, (since 1988),so I had some hope, just because I at least knew the reason. I even remember turning to Saturn and saying: " Why are you doing this to me? I thought I was in-tune with you! " If you've never heard 'God' laugh at you, you may not appreciate this; but that's what Saturn did.... He laughed! Big, long, 2 minutes of big, belly laughter, on and on. I was so embarassed, hehe. However, after it began to subsist I was transformed and said: " Okay, if I'm not in-tune yet, what should I do, now? " Saturn said only 2 words to me: " More...silence............. more......silence........ " And that began my real study and understanding of Saturn. I didn't care what I had to do. I was resolved to do whatever I had to do, to gain more peace with Saturn. I had had it, regarding suffering, and now, I was ready to learn. Over the next few years I learned many things. I learned how in my chart, I really never appreciated the importance of saving money. Actually, I'd sort of learned this 10 years earlier, after my first marriage, divorce and bankrupacy. I remember looking back, and thinking I'd made a resolution to never get married again until I had 6,000$ saved. After starting my first marriage with no money, that was a huge improvement. Then, I came across my financial receipts and found that I had 6,500$ saved at the start of my 2nd marriage. And that 2nd adventure was so much more positive and powerful as a result. But, now, I realized I still had to understand Saturn more. Now, I realized it's not enough for just me, to understand that I, (and my chart), need's to save money more. I now, realized that any of my partners, also have to be more saving oriented. Anyway, long story, but suffice it to say what began as a deep anxiety of 13 more years of Saturn grief; quickly became my happiest period in my life because I learned to grow within Saturn's nature. Like that we're all meant to climb out of the Saturn holes we've created for ourselves. And, as we do this, we'll learn that Saturn's challenges can be turned around snip<Saturn will finally leave Cancer on July 15th, 2007! So, if you’ve noticed feeling more uncharacteristicall y delayed and disappointed since Saturn started going Retrograde, then take heart that this is the reason!> Yes, this is exactly what has been going on with the job situation, however, I will have to find a remedy for this LONG before July! As I stated, I've had enough stillness and silence to last me a lifetime! Again, identifying the Saturn flavor helps us realize the Saturn weather pattern that we're in. I'll bet one thing, however. Next time you finally land a job, you're going to be more apt to put some important financial nest eggs away, for the next rainy days! I'll end by saying, you've just begun to experience more stillness and silence. The dire necessity for finding and unfolding, deeper and vital layers of Saturn silence; are crucial for life! No one's told us about this, however. We don't realize that rest is the basis of activity. Certainly no one has ever told us that dynamic inner silence is the key to dynamic outer health! We instead, crave activity, doing and staying busy. Someday, we'll realize that doing less, and beging still; and unfolding deeper and deeper qualities of Saturn silence is one of life's most important goals! Yes, the past 2 1/2 years have been quite eventful for me, and looking back over some of the major events then, it has been quite enlightening. However, as I said, a few more months like the past 2 1/2 years and I'll be in the looney bin! Exactly, why we need to psyche out Saturn's requirements; now! Brazen Lady May we all continue growing in Saturn's great nature and power, for all good, and even achievement in life. take care Mark http://360./brazenlady1
