Guest guest
I have been reading all the negative attribute that people give Saturn and they are very ignorant of the Jyotish laws...!Hi Dave: Well, you have to admit, Saturn is generally being malefic for most people so I'mI'm not surprised that people have this connotation! hehe They are giving too much emphasis on assigning negative aspects to Shani alone.. People are saying Shani causes this misfortune, or this bad luck , or this lalala...Well, not only are people looking at Saturn incorrectly they also don't realize " He " has nothing to do with our karmas. We, in fact, are the creators of our fate and consequences, and Saturn is only the Messenger! .. Many peoples' problems come from Rahu and Ketu, or a poorly placed Mangal ( Mars ). All three planets and nodes can have negative influences in the chart and can cause great disturbance in ones life..!!.Sure, learning how to distinguish between the various Planetary consequences is a goodthing to do.That way we can know which planet is the one that needs to be strengthened! For instance, I can experience lonliness, sexual frustration, sadness and despair, financial difficulties, inability to find a mate.. etc.. etc.. etc... Many people would say " Oh you must have a debilitated Saturn to be experiencing all this " ... LOL... That is not the case at all...!Next time, include your Date of Birth info. so we can see your chart, more clearly. In fact, my Shani is considered RajaYogakaraka in Vedic Astrology, meaning it is the utmost benefic! I have Tula (Libra) rising and Shani at 19 degrees, So it is Lord of my 1st house and very favorably placed.Eh, I'm sorry, did you mean you have a LIbra Rising? And Saturn's Exalted there in Libra, too?Saturn, however, is not your first house lord which it sounds like you're saying? On the other hand, the lord of my 7th ( Mars) is in my 12th, with my Sun ( lonliness and partner problems ) Loneliness also has a lot to do with the Moon's, being it's how we feel. Though Sun in the 12th can give a kind of shyness too but more of the Self rather then the Moon emotions.and Rahu and Ketu are in my 2nd and 8th ( financial and sexual issues.) So it isn't Saturn at all that is the problem.. It is all the other malefics!!!!Very good points. So please give Saturn a break guys.. He is a great friend to me...Well, you're lucky,...or I should say: " that's because for you you've created him that way. But, don't forget, for the rest of us, Saturn is one of most people's strongest malefics! Assign your problems where they belong and quit dumping them all on Saturn's influence... and MARK... - straighten them out..! Danheheehe,.... I've learned so much about all the Planets over the years as I've found my various friends and students each having various 'Good' planets. So, thanks for your Good Saturn story!heheMark Kincaid markkincaid (AT) (DOT) com wrote: Mark:Interesting thought, about happiness being due to the moon. I think you're right. Although i follow Greek rather than Hindu astrology, the astrology i do is very influenced by the Vedic stuff i've read, in particular the importance of the lunar nodes and lunar stuff generally. Hi Bob: Well, one of the greatest things I've learned in the 'field of Astrology' itself, is thereis no real Western, Eastern Jewish, Chinese, or Greek. As you say " influenced by te Vedicstuff " , but what I've experienced is there is a " REAL " Astrology which is out there, in Naturewhich is already happening and existing in our bodies, our speech, and in our genes!the moon is our moods, and certainly happiness is a mood. Well, in most Astrology's I've read the Moon represents the " container of the Mind " , which like our Physical Moon, receives the light and energy of the Sun, and with that creates ourtides, and even weather patterns. In our lives, our Mind's are really nothing but an empty container though which the lightand energy of the Sun, soul, floods into our experience. " Happiness " , then is when the Mind wakes up to it's full relationship with spirit.Happiness is not really a mood of mind, because the mind is always changeing, like thePhysical Moon. Therefore true and lasting Happinesss can not be in the Moon alone, butin the Self, Sun which is the true source of all happiness. Those who plummet into the full potential of the Sun, spirit Self, find pure bliss and trueHappiness!I'm experiencing something like that now in my own life, I'm in recovery from my Saturn return which wiped me out financially this year (not bankrupt since I have no debts, but broke). Then, we reflect on the meanins of each of the Planets. Poor Saturn, he has such a bad, terrible reputation. I think of Saturn as the opposite of Jupiter. And, if Jupiter is the right hand that refects the Guru reaching down and picking us up; Saturn is the left-hand of God that slaps us downONLY if we've been out of balance. My own experience confirms that Saturn represents balance and pure silence and stillnessand if we have enough of that, then we feel happy and joyful. But, because most of us are not in tune enough with Saturn, then it's returns, it's Dasa timeperiods and Transits are of the negative or what Jyotish calls Malefic variety.Because once 'we' learn to be more in-tune with Saturn, then it's movements, it's effects, even it's long, lenghty returns like Sade Sat when Saturn returns to where the Moon was in our birth chart's; even these become opportunities for deeper inward experience anddevelopment. This is why theoretically we loose things, money, jobs, houses, relationships, so un fetteredwith all that, we can get back to a simpler, purer existence which Satiurn rules.Saturn rules pure silent bliss, eternal and immortal and it's function is to help us find that! And I know (am channeling) it's a lesson in learning to be joyous no matter what is happening outside you. e..g my customary mood of oppression (natal sun conjunct Saturn - Pluto opposed moon: the sense that you are walking through life with 50-lb. weights fastened to each foot, that nothing you do is rewarded, that all expectations are dashed etc.) is being replaced at this time by a lightness I've never felt before ... like " Whoopee, who gives a damn, I'm just going to feel good! " This is a beautiful experience of the liberating, even expansive effect of Saturn, which oncewe let go and surrencer, accept, then bliss comes!Congrats.... Be nice if this mood is permanent. but I agree it's the moon which informs our customary moods. xoxo, Bobfun talking with you.Mark Kincaidps... Did you ever send in your date of birth info, so I can look at your chart. Would be happyto reflect with you on some of your Jyotish symbolisms if you'd like...ciaomarkkincaid (AT) (DOT) com wrote: It's because happiness is matter of losing one's expectations, not fulfilling expectations. That's why the dirt-poor Mayan Indians of Guatemala are happier than wealthy Americans. Mark: to test a theory (about the value of planetary hours) I need to know the dates, times and places when winning lottery tickets were purchased (not the data of the purchaser). Do you know where I can find same? -BobDear Bob: I think Astrology also has something profound to tell us about 'Happiness'.According to Astrology, Happiness is due to the Moon. In other words happiness is a stateof mind, not a state of money.Money karma is another area of our Astrology and there are plenty of examples of thosewho have lots of money and they don't have much real, true, inner happiness!Sorry, don't know any data of the winning lottery tickets.Mark K.
