Guest guest
Namaste Mark and all, I just read a passage from the Srimad Bhagavatam that the Ashvin- Kumaras, the divine physicians, were able to rejuvenate a sage's health and regain his youth. This was made possible by taking the sage to bathe in the pristine waters of a lake. In return, the sage offered the physicians a pot of soma obtained from the sage's yagya performance. The story appears to be an allegory of how this can be done. However, modern science has not been able to discover this fountain of youth. Regards, John R. Dear John: Yes, I believe in such potential of the real purpose of Ayurveda. And like Ayurveda I believe that Jyotish is really about Enlightenment too.In terms of Ayurveda, the divine soma that's referred to is both a physical potion and asymbolism of the Divine.Deep inside every human being is an ocean of such pure delight...that all diseases, all ailments, grief and maladies can be cured...This pure healing potion is the Divine nature of life, itself, Being or the Self. There are also some potions that help in this development of the supreme consciousness. One of the ancient potions was one called amrit kalash, or amrita. There are some that are trying to revive this in this life.Yes, I'd agree, this is symbolic of the Fountain of Youth.Interesting that there's a new movie coming out this month called Fountain staring Hugh Jackson and Rachael Weiss which is all about enlightenment....(I hope..) hehheJyotish too has a supreme role in gaining Enlightenment....Jyotish is Vedic Psychology which has its true purpose to take us out of Ignorance and into Enlightenment.Mark Kincaidthanks for sharing...
