Guest guest
Hi Mark and friends, Re: the transit of Saturn and Ketu in Leo...Mark, you wrote " at some point their literal, close proximity will become a singular negative or malefic force which will become an important aspect of transiting reality. " I appreciate the way you seem to be referring to the literal phenomenon of the transiting planets, while at the same time I felt you were subtly touching on the idea of " transitORY reality. " Thank you. When I first discovered the Transits, Astrology, literally came ALIVE for me! Such a true and broad perspective of reality takes some of the heat off the idea of these two malefics joining forces...which will not be exact until next October 2007, though we will get a small taste of it now as both Saturn and Ketu are involved in the " in-sign " conjunction. One of the other things I've learned about the so-called negative or malefic transits istheir really positive or benefic purposes. For example when it rains it almost always seems to coincide with 2 or more maleificinfluences upon the Moon... After awhile then, it occured to me, this can't be all bad! After all, we get the all positive nourishing RAIN,..from these same malefic influences.. So, even negatives have some intrinsic goodness for us. This increasing INTENSITY of Ketu and Saturn, will probably feel like 2 Saturns on topof each other. They say Ketu acts like Mars so ketu and Saturn then may be fairly similar to when marsand Saturn collide in close conjunction or even influence. For example last year when we had all those hurricanes, they occured exactly during a Transit of Mars and Saturn. Mars was in Aries, fully aspecting Saturn,...in Cancer, while Saturn was in Cancer fullyaspecting Mars that was in Aries. So, for 3 months in a row, when Moon went from Mars in Aries to Saturn in Cancer, wehad 3 hurricanes. First one was Katrina, which everyone remembers very much. Then, next I thought, " Oh, my next month this transit will repeat itself so I told people toexpect another... And then almost 28 days to a tee,..Moon returned to Mars in Aries and as it sped pastand towards Saturn in Cancer, this time, we had hurricane Rita, slamming into the Florida coast! Ketu is a graha that relates to letting go and Saturn is a planet of karmic reckoning. Leo in mundane astrology relates to explosions and fires and also to governments, schools and universities, sports arenas and other places of amusement and entertainment. It's what I've been thinking too. Saturn is " lessons " of, so lessons of Leo ness....means lessons related to Self, to ego, to " I's " including self-confidence and evenFathers... and Governments... I feel that these could be potential areas of danger during this transit. Ketu is also a graha that relates to virulent epidemics and Saturn is a planet of disease, whereas Leo is a sign that relates to fevers and blood, heart and eye diseases and infections, so one presumes that we should all be vigilant about keeping our immune systems at their peak and avoiding risky behavior especially during this transit. Very good analysis here. Basically I agree. So, we have a danger on the horizon then! We need to let people know of this potential, which we will and as the Planets getcloser and closer we should see increasing signs of this upcoming transit. Jyotish however, Astrology is really for a prevention of the Dangers on the Horizon.. So, soon we'll begin talking about things we can do to avoid these Dangers! It might be interesting to look back in history to the last time Saturn and Ketu were together in Leo. I believe this was in 1802, but Jupiter was also involved in their conjunction at that time, which changes matters significantly. The only chart I could find with Saturn and Ketu in Leo is one for Charlemagne, the great king who united Europe after the Fall of the Roman Empire: April 2, 742 (no time given) at Aachen. Best, Juliana Ya, the Transits have much to teach us. I think especially since they're so intimately wrapped up in a real scientific approach to Astrology. fun talking with you...
