define affliction of planets? as well as causes of afflcitons? Thanks

Dear Esstar:

" affliction " has to do with the concept in Jyotish of positive

or benefic and negative or malefic.

In other words Jyotish

distinguishes between those planets which are strong, good and balanced as Benefices and weak, bad, imbalanced or afflicted as

Malefics.

Those planets that are

Benefic are those parts of us which we were born with which arefunctioning correctly or developed, and those parts of us which are

acting negatively, areimbalanced or undeveloped and are causing us

our problems, challenges, negatives and afflictions are our malefics.

For example, if Mars is

acting malefically, then any and all manners of Mars afflictions may

result. Skin rashes, heat exhaustion, fever, anger, marital or

relationship probems etc.

If Saturn is acting

malefically, then Saturn afflictions include tiredness, stress, delays

disappointments, dis-ease, disease and early death.

In other words, " afflictions " are due to malefic

functioning planets.

Jyotish makes a

connotation between Planets that are healthy and balanced and those that

are creating unwanted or negative results.
