Hi Mark and Friends,

Re: the transit of Saturn and Ketu in Leo...you wrote " at some point

their literal, close proximity will become a singular negative or

malefic force which will become an important aspect of transiting

reality. " I appreciate the way you seem to be referring to the

literal phenomenon of the transiting planets, while at the same time

I felt you were subtly touching on the idea of " transitORY reality. "

Such a true and broad perspective of reality takes some of the heat

off the idea of these two malefics joining forces...which will not

be exact until next October 2007, though we will get a small taste

of it now as both Saturn and Ketu are involved in the " in-sign "

conjunction.

Ketu is a graha that relates to letting go and Saturn is a planet of

karmic reckoning. Leo in mundane astrology relates to explosions and

fires and also to governments, schools and universities, sports

arenas and other places of amusement and entertainment. I feel that

these could be potential areas of danger during this transit. Ketu

is also a graha that relates to virulent epidemics and Saturn is a

planet of disease, whereas Leo is a sign that relates to fevers and

blood, heart and eye diseases and infections, so one presumes that

we should all be vigilant about keeping our immune systems at their

peak and avoiding risky behavior especially during this transit.

It might be interesting to look back in history to the last time

Saturn and Ketu were together in Leo. I believe this was in 1802,

but Jupiter was also involved in their conjunction at that time,

which changes matters significantly. The only chart I could find

with Saturn and Ketu in Leo is one for Charlemagne, the great king

who united Europe after the Fall of the Roman Empire: April 2, 742

(no time given) at Aachen.

Best,

Juliana
