Astrology Course Newsletter – Introduction & News 10/11/06

 

Since we're still waiting for people to write up their Bios, and

Introductions, (Saturn must be influencing, hehe), I thought it would be good

to reflect on some more Philosophy of the Study of Astrology.

 

Astrology

is much more simple then people understand sometimes, I think. For example though Astrology can be complex

as the Universe, itself; still it can be very simple!

 

And, that's

my approach! Hehe,…. Make your study

simpler. That's why I first emphasize

filling out your Personality Profile, because if you start your study, or

continue your study; but from the point of view of what you already know to be truth,.....

Then, you'll have the best chance of not confusing yourself

as you continue your study.

 

See, the

main problem in studying Astrology, is we study one part of our chart at a

time. But, always, we're living

all aspects of our charts, or ourselves, simultaneously!

This means

it's slightly artificial to study only one part at a time. If there was a way we could grok, or sing our

totality all at once, then maybe that would be more accurate! Hehe.

 

So, reflect

on who you are, then study the Planets first.

 

And even

though Jyotish tends to favor the Moon, study the Sun, first because it after

all, is the largest most powerful Astrological force in our whole Solar system,

so it shouldn't be surprising to find also in our charts.

 

The Sun, is

slightly abstract sometimes, because it lies beyond the Moon-mind. We think and feel, through our Moon's and

right there, beneath our Moon, emotional mind's is our Sun.

It's how we

are, how we exist, how our egos function, so it's more abstract even then the

mind-Moon.

You should

however be able to relate to the various descriptions of the Sun in different

Signs.

 

1) Find your Jyotish Sun/Sign.

Then read about that. There's not

much chance that

your Sun-sign could be off! Find some descriptions in all the sometimes

generalistic descriptions of the Sun-sign, because "THAT', is you!

 

What fits you! And then,...... Write it down!

 

You do this for each part of your

chart, and after you've finished your entire chart, you should have a

resounding experience of:

 

"aha!" or "eureka",…or "wow….this

really fits me!"

 

 

This is the key to Astrological study!

 

 

We all have some sense of that as

we've gotten into Astrology, because this is the defining characteristic that

IS,….Astrology!

 

2) The Holy Astrology Trinity! Don't forget you're studying your chart, in part, so your first

Goal is to grasp how your Astrology Trinity fits you!

Sun, Moon & Rising Signs are the 3 in One, Trinity!

 

 

Not only the Sun, but study

simultaneously, your Moon & Rising Signs…all together…

 

They all really together, capture

YOU!

 

Our Sun's represent our ego part

and our Moon's represent our emotional part.

Then, there's the Rising sign,

which represents our `personality'.

 

This is a slightly less clear

part of Astrology.

 

For all the other depictions,

Moon represents the emotional nature, Sun represents our egos, even Mercury

represents our Intellects, …. There is no clear part of our body or even mind,

that seems to say: "Hi, I'm your

personality"!

 

However, I found my personality,

in my body, in my presence, in how I come across to others.

 

That's the Rising Sign!

 

Some characteristics of those

descriptions will fit you!

 

However, the Rising sign is the

least verifiable part of the Astrology chart.

 

Look at the exact degrees of your

chart, and see how close your Rising sign is to either the beginning or end,

cusps.

 

If you're born at the 1st

degree into Cancer Rising, you want to be slightly skeptical about this,

because you're also so close to Gemini.

 

For both cusps, beginning or end,

(Cancer is close to Leo, for ex.), then read 2 personality descriptions.

 

Sometimes one's birth time is

incorrect or mistakenly forgotten or remembered!

 

If our time is off even 15 mins.

That may throw off the whole chart!

 

So, at some point if you haven't

had it done, have a professional Rectification.

This will not only verify the Rising Sign, but will verify the exact

time of that rising sign.

 

(One has to look at many subtle

details of one's past Dasas to help come to a satisfying conclusion about the

exact degrees of one's Rising Sign)

 

Then Study the different Planets

in their Different Signs, also.

 

Study the Planets in different

Signs first…

 

Later we'll study what the

different Planets are supposed to be like in the different Houses. They do, after all, represent the different

areas of the life; in which you have your karma with each planet.

 

First goal however is to get

"YOU", regardless of where you're flowing.

 

Your

chart's descriptions of Planets in the various Signs will give you a better

understanding of You!

 

After that, then we'll expand

into Planets in Houses…..

very precise and accurate descriptions of every aspect of our very real,

personal Astrological Nature!

 

The "KEY" to life…is in Knowing

who we are!

 

We're that combination of

different Astrological forces!

 

If you don't know how to `see'

that Self, more clearly then you'll have innumerable problems in resolving

inner conflicts, or accomplishing outer goals.

 

This is because the `outer' depends

on the inner!

 

Those that are clearer as to

their inner nature have an easier time with their outer life!

 

#2 The 2nd most important goal in your Astrological

study is to arrive at a place of what I like to call:

 

"Jyotish Discrimination"

 

This means we see the find

distinctions between all our Planets and can even come to see which are our

strengths & which our weaknesses!

 

Strengths are our Astrological Benefices

and

 

Weaknesses are our Astrological

Malefics!

 

The key in life is learning how

to `flow' better through your benefic strengths and the key to achievement is

learning how to resolve and transform your malefic weaknesses, also into strengths!

 

This of course, is a life long

process.

 

In this short 4-6 week time we'll

move towards the accomplishment of these goals.

 

But, each step that you take

towards this accomplishment will have a "HUGE" impact on improving the overall

quality of your life, in the future!

 

Also, each thing you learn during

this time, will only be the beginning of great Jyotish, Astrological `ahas' and

insights too.

 

#3 The 3rd aspect to our course is the quality of

Self-Improvement in Astrology.

 

Contained within the deep,

symbolisms of Benefices vs. Malefics is the seed of self-development or

self-improvement, in Life!

 

In other words, struggling and

suffering is due to NOT understanding how we're creating our malefics which are

literally causing us our mistakes and are in fact due to mistaken notions,

illusions, prejudices, all of which are our MALEFICS!

 

Learning which are our malefics,

and then, especially, exactly HOW to change any of them is at the real heart

and truest goal of Astrology!

 

Astrology is for

Self-development!

 

Not just for predicting your

miseries which may have been there, in the beginning.

 

We can see a danger on the

horizon due to good Astrology!...and we can now, avoid that challenge,

completely!
