Guest guest
Hi Mark, and thank you for the welcome as well as the files. Dear Daisie: Thanks for your nice Introduction. It helps people get to know each other better when we're so open re. who we are. Your question: How does Jyotish specifically reference conscious expansion? Daisie What I like about Jyotish, especially as it's a part of the great Vedic Tradition, is that all forms of Vedic knowledge can be found in Jyotish. Sometimes, you'll hear described " Jyotish is the eye of the Ved " , and I've found that this is true, because everything else can be found there, somewhere. For example, " mantras " can be found in the 5th house, God in the 9th house, and in the 12th house, the transcendental Glory. As far as expansion goes, Jupiter is the primary planet of expansion, though Saturn has it's opposite grace of ruling over 'contraction'. So, whether you experience transcendence as an expansion or a contraction, both planets have the potential for leading us into the Self. I'll look forward to your joining, us! Sincerely, Mark Kincaid ps... Where is your edge of the forest? I've been hailing out of mid-western US, Fairfield, Iowa home of the infamous Transcendental Meditation program. Presently, I've embarked on a Jyotish Tour, where I'm traveling around the country, working on my first Jyotish book: " The Stars Within " . I'm in Sierra Vista Arizona right now, with plans to go to Phoenix next and then, on to California, Santa Barbara, and then Colorado, in March probably. ciao Jai Guru! Hi Mark, and thank you for the welcome as well as the files. By way of introduction, I began studying astrology in the late 80's, reading Dane Rudhyar's _Astrology of Personality_. I think back to the statement made in his book that one should be certain of the intention of this study, as the gaining of information would render more intensity to life. Rudhyar implied keener tests to the spirit/self would arise with opening one's eyes through astrology (up and down/above and below). This has been the case for me and I am ever grateful for the opportunity to continue the learning process. And that brings me here. I am a sky gazer and backyard astronomer. Having entered and appreciated/experienced astrology *tropically*, the difference between this practice and my backyard viewing hints there is something I'm missing. Perhaps it will be found in " Nature's Astrology " ! By way of background - I teach yoga, anapanasati/vipassana meditation (my Teacher is a Theravadan monk), facilitate journaling groups, and have a limited astrological consulting business. My interests are varied and include what I've already mentioned as well as mythology, and a close relationship with the woods which edge my home (the red headed woodpecker is resident shaman here). And now to jump in and display my ignorance of Jyotish! You (Mike) wrote: " Together, Consciousness, expansion, and Jyotish, which represents, really the highest form of pure Knowledge, .....together, they represent a very complete wisdom of life. " In my study and practice, I understand Pluto as the energy that deepens consciousness, thereby expanding consciousness. How does Jyotish specifically reference conscious expansion? I'll be out of town this weekend but looking foward to next week online, (thanks again) daisie
