Guest guest
Dear Angel & All: I have a few thoughts to share about 'this'! great...... question, hehehe Having been born in sade sat, with Saturn as my Yogakaraka planet, (ie. Libra rising), and now in the 14th year of my Saturn dasa, and Sani's.... presently going through my 10th house in Cancer!..... wow.... Sounds kind of exchausting, when I write it down, hehe. Actually, the last few years, as I've come to understand and especially love,... both the nature, and the role...and the deep symbolism,...of Saturn.... Saturn has turned out to be an extremely positive planet for me.... And, this is quite amazing since Saturn was in my 12th house at birth! But, my experience is that once you begin to better understand, especially the malefically functioning nature of Saturn,...or for that matter, any planet.... then the positive sides of 'that' can come up. I noticed this a lot when Saturn first went into Cancer, last fall. I've been watching it now, for over 17 years, and have clear experiences now as to when it went through Capricorn, then Aquarius, then, Pisces, in my 6th house, then, Aries, in my 7th, then finally, Taurus, Gemini, and now Cancer.... My first experience, last fall, was like a huge boulder, began inching it's way into my 10th house! My first reaction was to laugh, and in amazement, run all around that huge boulder, exclaiming: " Wow,....look at that,...that's my Saturn " ..... Later when Sani was to inch back into Gemini, I noticed a big shift again, out of this deep, heaviness on a feeling level. Since then, I became aware that many people were suffering because of this most recent transit of Saturn through Cancer, the home of the mind, or feelings. Now, after all these years I understand that Saturn is nature's feedback, and task masker, in the extent, of trying to show us, exactly where we now, need more inner balance. When we hurt ourselves, or get stiff, or sick, we feel pain, and that pain, or stiffness, is nature's way of showing us exactly where we need help! If we pay better attention, and take notice, especially when a pain, stiffness, or sore throat, are just beginning to be noticed, then, we have a great chance of nipping it in the bud! Now, that I understand and adore Saturn, more,....now, whenever Saturn's trying to get my attention, I try and listen and adjust right away! Since Saturn has goine back into Cancer, again, now....I'm even more fully ready to adjust to the time and effort necessary to allow myself to pay more attention to my Caner, Moon, heart, and allow myself to grow in the unique fashion of Saturn, which, after all.... is only trying to help us find Diving Stillness! Saturn is Shiva, and as such, is that part of nature that's trying to help us, unfold the full potential of Shiva's great silent dignity..... If we approach Saturn in this way, and learn to let go, adjust, surrender, and embrace, the hint, feedback, and wisdoms of Saturn, then..... any Saturn dasa, or transit, can be glorious,....as Rohini, mentioned below. If natal saturn is strong, benefic, I would take that to represent as positive influences but there could be other factors operating as well. Sade sathi is essentially a 'transit' influence and will be influenced by dashas prevailing. It should not be taken as an overriding factor. Individuals have been known to rise very high during sade-sathi and some experience very good results in one cycle but very bad in another. I really wish it were a single factor kind of situation as it would make the astrologer's life that much easier -- but it is not so, unfortunately. With retrogression of saturn sometimes health conditions are worsened even though other things in life may improve. Again, I am sure there would be examples where this is not so. As I was discussing earlier with someone, the state of alertness of the planet has a role to play too in the charts and modifies the expression of the planet. As do many other things and attributes. I mention all this just to emphasize that one should carry out a weighting of all these factors when delineating. It is tempting to be distracted by some of the more obvious attributes in a chart, such as exaltation, own sign, retrogression, yogas but then these must be reexamined to see if some of these are pots of gold with hidden holes that make those hold no water (the primary purpose of the pot!). Best wishes and good luck in your search.
