Mark: Is saturns aspect good or bad??

Some books say saturn if aspects venus its good.

So what would be the effect of venus being placed in eleventh house (gemini for simha lagna) and saturn aspecting it from second house(virgo).Venus being the lord of tenth(in this case), does this signature show any hindrances in carreer or slow growth in carreer.

Dear Jana:

Think of every possible Astrological influence as being potentially 'good' and sometimes, functionally malefic!

In other words all the planets can be benefic and or they can be negative.

As you asked, Saturn's aspect will depend upon how positive or negative Saturn is in someone's chart.

If Saturn is in it's Own Sign, or Exalted, and experience shows that the general transits of your Saturn are positive?, then Saturn's aspect may! be positive.

However, for most people, perhaps because Saturn is the primary functional malefic of our age!;

Saturn's dasas, transits and aspects are more malefic!

Practical experience in other's charts, indicates for many that Saturn has a negative or loss, or eclipsed, certainly a held back kind of quality and when looking at or aspecting Venus then the ability to express one's feelings and affections, is often negatively predisposed.

However don't forget, our charts are not just symbolic of our problems or 'fate' but!, they're also symbolic of our opportunities and our futures!

So, if SAturn's glance is negative upon Venus, and you want to improve that 'holding back' shy in expressions kind of reality, then one only needs to look to Saturn, and how to literally, strengthen and improve the quality of that Saturn, and then, it's aspects will gain the possibiliity of becoming more positive.

There are 2 primary aspects of Jyotish.

#1, our chart's express an Understanding, as to how our chart's mirror or reflect all the details, qualities, and characteristics of our lives!

#2, However, is that there is an area of Jyotish Improvement, commonly called 'remedies' or Remedial measures, which is about how we also have the potential of self-improvement and transformation.

Unfortunatley, too often, people tend to focus on more the fatalistic, karmic part of our charts or #1.

However, today, now, the time is becoming ripe for examining and focusing more on the #2, or self-transformative part of life and Jyotish!

When I first started studying Jyotish many years ago, now, (1988), every! book that you'd pick up would have say, 195 pages on the #1, Jyotish 'Understanding' part, and at the end, almost like an after thought, would be 5 pages on the remedial measures.

Even back then, I thought this was very strange.

Now, I realize that the percentage of 95-5% can be changed.

We could spend 1/2 our time reflecting on the " Understanding " part or the reasons why we're going through what we're going through.

But, we could also start spending more and more time and energy, even 50% of our time, on how we might improve ourselves and our negative or malefic parts of our charts!

Today, I realize this percentage could be more like 5% on the Understanding and 95% ! on the remedial measures!

This is because it doesn't take very long to figure out whether a planet is acting malefic or not.

Then, one can immediately begin figuring out how to improve and strengthen that malefically functioning planet!

This is my favorite part of Jyotish because life is meant to grow, not to be an expression of prison like or fatalistic realities!

Is saturns aspect good or bad??

Some books say saturn if aspects venus its good.

So what would be the effect of venus being placed in eleventh house (gemini for simha lagna) and saturn aspecting it from second house(virgo).Venus being the lord of tenth(in this case), does this signature show any hindrances in carreer or slow growth in carreer.

First of all, we need to look at the house rulerships of say Saturn.

For all Leo rising individuals, Saturn's Capricorn & Aquarius energies rule's the 6th & 7th houses.

There you need to look at what it means for the lord of the 6th & 7th being in the 2nd?

Do you have money, does it come slowly, but does it come, or do you have ups & downs with money! ?

Often, SAturn in the 2nd, gives delays and disappointments especially to the flow of money, which then, gives us a clue that our Saturn may be acting malefically.

Venus, however, being lord of the 10th, being in the 11th is a fairly well described lordship.

One's career energy goes to the house of gain, which is a positive side of one's chart.

However, you're right to be concerned, that if Saturn is acting malefically, then it's 10th house aspect may also restrict or hold up flow of gain or money.

Especially if this is your experience, then, all efforts could be made to strengthen and transform your Saturn from a malefic to a benefic influence!

I've written and collected many articles on Saturn which are loaded into the 3rd folder of the files section of my other called: Nature's Astrology at:

/

Also saturn being the lord of sixth and seventh does this show any connection between the natives frns, foes, spouse and carreer(improvement or hindrance).

Yes, this can be true. However it can also be true that if you make efforts to improve your SAturn, then the positives of the 6th house, ie. health!, and sucess with enemies and daily work, will bring wealth! The key is in transforming our malefics!

If there is any ill effect pls suggest ways of improving this.

The primary meaning and symbolism of Saturn is:

" balance " .

Saturn therefore, is normally indicative of being out of balance, and the griefs, and sufferings, due to that!

However, once we put more attention on creating more balance, and rest and reflief of stress then, Saturn can become more benefic!

and even wonderful!

The key is Saturn, self-improvement.

Check out those articles and consider having your chart, 'read' to look specifically at the symbolisms of Saturn and the other realities and particulars of your chart!

Sincerely,

Mark Kincaid
