Guest guest
Dear MarK: Although meditation is the Rolls Royce of methods to use as a way of developing inner silence, (along with awareness of Saturn's transits and the moon's phases), are there any other waking-state concious efforts that could be employed? Verbal Japa? Nature-walks? Just not talking so damned much? Hehe... Blessings, Dave Dear Dave: Greetings! hehe Great question! I'd been meditating for over 18 years when I first stumbled upon Jyotish. And believe me I thought I'd 'enlivened' enough Saturn like, silence, to last a life-time! But, when I started studying Jyotish, I realized, still, I had much malefic Saturn stuff, goings on. Then I began my real enlivenment of Saturn, through study. Now, what I recomend are: #1) That one 'STUDY', the Positives of Saturn. This understanding will help us see, where we are with our present Saturns. I've found that Intellectually 'appreciating' Saturn, is a vital first step at really moving towards more Saturn beneficness. #2) Study, specifically, the inherent 'Astrological' meanings of the Saturn in our charts, for not only the meaning of the 'grief' of Saturn, but also, how one can strengthen, 'that' Saturn! For example, I learned that my SAturn was in the 12th house. And, I certainly felt like I was 'at loss' to the virtues and wisdoms of SAturn. (ie. that's the symbolism of being in the 12th house). So, it occured to me that 'learning' the strengths and virtues of SAturn might help! #3) Saturn also means: " BALANCE " and there are many ways in which one can achieve 'balance' in addition to meditating. For example, Ayurveda, understands all of life in terms of balance. There are cycles, that one can strive to be more in-tune with. For example there's the Daily cycle of rest & activity, which includes an appreciation of the nature of the different time periods throughout the day. Learning how to be in-tune with those cycles, has helped me create 'balance' which then, created a more profound Saturn, within me. In this regard, I also realized, through Jyotish, that there was also something called the Monthly Cycle or the Moon's Waxings & Wanings. Learning to be more in-tune or balanced with this cycle has been one of the best things I've ever done! #4) Every day, whether we're in a Saturn dasa or Transit, Nature trys to tell us, whether we're being in-tune enough with SAturn. During each of these moments, Nature is presenting us with an opportunity to follow the patterns, that we've been experiencing, or at that very moment, 'do' that something with more Saturn patience, stillness and humility! ciao Jai Guru Mark Kincaid ps... I don't recomend doing japa or mantra recitation while one is walking, but certainly, one can focus on walking with more silence, ease, and composure. And, yes, not talking soooo much is a good one! hehhee > " Dave " <Demersonpws > Wed, 08 Jun 2005 15:56:00 -0000 > m.kincaid > thought....re: silence.. Hi Joe!
