Mark, I totally agree with you. The planetary positions act as the

guides and if we understand their significance we can live our lives in a

much better way. I think I read in another one of your articles

about Saturn and Surrender, that also helped me a lot. ....

Dear S_dipity:

What is your name, anyway? hehe....

See, in most people's interpretations of Jyotish, the very important part of Jyotish Transformation has been either completely forgotten, or only emphasized about 5%.

When I first started studying Jyotish, in the late 80's...(1988), all the books that were out there, would have oh, say, 195 pages on the Jyotish, and then, at the end, tacked on, almost like an after thought, would be 5 pages of remedial measures.

But, as my background has been the healing and extremely progressive and transformative aspects of meditation and Ayurved, I looked at Jyotish differently.

Today, Jyotish is going through it's own transformation where the life and soul, especially the vast transformative power of Jyotish is coming back.

One of my favorite insights was that the malefics in our charts not only represent the sources of our problems, challenges & sufferings. Our malefics also represent our Solutions!

In otherwords, looking at our Jyotish from one angle, those malefics do point us to where our weaknesses lie.

However, from a slightly different glance, and those same weaker, or malefic situtaions, also represent the very planets that are supposed to be strengthened!

For example, if you take any malefic, let's say Mars for example and in someone's chart, Mars is acting malefically. Maybe they're accident prone, or have fights, heat or pitta rashes, and any of the many 'malefic' consequences of a malefically functioning Mars.

So, from the one Jyotish perspective Mars is indicative of the problem; but at the very same time, Mars is indicative of the solution!

For many people, when they come to me, with a Mars problem, first I help them see how their Mars is indicative of their challenge or problem; but then, I quickly suggest that they strengthen their Mars!

See, people are great. They don't know that Jyotish isn't supposed to be about improvement!

They don't know that Jyotish normally, is too preoccupied with the fatalistic aspect of life.

People just want to improve their lives!

So, when I say: " Strengthen Mars " ..... they don't say, how come; instead they say: " How! "

For Mars, representing the many aspects of activity, dynamism, enthuiasm, blood, standing up for oneself, and fighting, Mars is a very important planet.

But, when it's acting malefically in anyone's chart, it's become too Marish, or out of balance.

Therefore the solution is to bring one's Mars, back into balance.

See, Ayurvedic doctors and Physicians know this already. Though they don't call it Mars, they call it pitta.

Ayurved has the long standing understanding that life's problems are due to a basic imbalance between the 3 basic energies of the body/mind, called Vatta, Pitta, Kalpha.

So, the Ayurveda person, feels the pulse, and detects the imbalance, and then, prescribes Ayurvedic remedies to bring that 'pulse' back into balance.

In fact, when I was initially exposed to Jyotish, many years ago, I was attending a month long course on Ayurved in India.

Even back then, one of the Vedic Scholars said: " Ayurved and Jyotish should be done together. "

Now, I understand that Ayurved is really good at deciphering and understanding how to bring the Physiology of the body, back into balance, where Jyotish is really expert at the Psychology, understanding the deeper, more mental patterns, and inclinations that are there.

In our Jyotish, are represented, the mental patterns of motivation, and will, and desires, that are all jumbled up.

The Benefics represent the patterns that we have 'right', and are therefore the source of good things, success, natural fulfillment of desire, and happiness.

Our Malefics, however, are where we're confused, deluded, mistaken, and make poor decisions, and judgements.

This is because those 'Malefics' represent planets that are either, out of balance, or under developed.

Therefore when we say, strengthen our Malefics, this is a very significant, and accurate understanding.

Anyone, in fact, who takes even a few steps towards strengthening Mars, Saturn, Rahu/Ketu, finds immediate and powerful improvement and greater success, in life.

The key thing is to understand that we're born for this self-transformation, and fate is not the answer!

Nice talking with you.

Sincerely,

Mark Kincaid
